Closing 2024 WNBA Championship Odds
Odds as of October 17th at DraftKings Sportsbook.
Below, you’ll find notes on significant WNBA Championship odds movement over the course of the 2024 season:
- [Oct 17] Sabrina Ionescu’s dagger from the logo in Game 3 has the Liberty (-950) just one win away from their first WNBA Championship. At worst, the series can go back to New York for a Game 5, but the Lynx (+628) will have to dig deep to extend the series beyond Friday.
- [Oct 15] The Liberty (-205) are WNBA favorites once again, following their 80-66 win in Game 2. The series now moves to Minneapolis, where the Lynx (+171) could potentially clinch the title at home.
- [Oct 11] After being down 18 points, the Lynx came roaring back to win Game 1 95-93 in OT, and now sit as slight favorites to win this Best of 5 series and their first title since 2017.
- [Oct 9] We’ve got our final two teams! The Minnesota Lynx were able to close out their Game 5 last night against the Sun and go into the 2024 WNBA Finals as +215 underdogs. After finishing off the Aces in four games in the semis, the New York Liberty open at -260 and are heavily favorited to finally capture their first WNBA title.
- [Sep 26] The opening round of the WNBA playoffs remained fairly academic as all four favorites swept their way into the second round. The two Best-of-5 series see the #1-seed Liberty (+136) take on the defending champion Aces (+247), while the Lynx (+252) face the Sun (+685).
- [Sep 20] The Atlanta Dream (+20000) closed out the season with a three-game winning streak and in doing so claimed the final WNBA playoff spot. Their reward? A date with the #1 seed New York Liberty (+145), who finished 19 games ahead of the Dream in the regular season standings.
- [Aug 26] As the Aces continue to sputter, the Liberty have become the undisputed 2024 WNBA championship favorites, sitting at +143 on average. Las Vegas has faded to +285.
- [Jul 19] Heading into the All-Star & Olympic break, Las Vegas (+154) and New York (+163) remain as frontrunners to capture the 2024 WNBA Championship, with Connecticut (+775), Minnesota (+869), and Seattle (+1025) not far behind.
- [Jul 5] After going 1-9 in their last ten, Dallas has plummeted down the WNBA Championship odds table, going from +5500 just a month ago to +30000.
- [Jun 7] The Minnesota Lynx have made a massive jump over the past two weeks. Their title odds have shortened from +4000 to +1800 after going 5-1 in their last six games.
- [May 24] We’re less than two weeks into the season and the Aces’ odds have already started to fade. In fairness, their odds are only marginally longer following a ten-point home loss to Phoenix, but at +105 Las Vegas is now plus-money to win their third championship in a row.
- [May 13] The 2024 WNBA season is set to begin tomorrow and the two-time champion Las Vegas Aces (-105) are again favorites to win the Commissioner’s Cup. Just behind Las Vegas are their opponent from the ’23 finals, the New York Liberty (+240). Further down the table are the Indiana Fever (+2500), winners of the ’24 WNBA Draft Lottery and home to NCAA record-breaker Caitlin Clark.
