NFL Futures

The NFL has the shortest season of all the major professional sports in North America, starting in early-September and finishing with the Super Bowl in early-to-mid-February. The NFL also only has each team play 17 games in their regular season, followed by a total of four playoff rounds to determine their yearly champion. In spite of the NFL being the league with (by far) the fewest games to bet throughout its season, it is without a doubt the king of all sports if you ask any sportsbook. This is a result of huge interest and passion for the league as well as sportsbooks capitalizing on that fandom with thousands of betting markets each week of the season. One section of those thousands of markets is NFL futures, which sportsbooks do a great job of making available at basically any time of the year.
The NFL’s most coveted championship, the Super Bowl, is literally open 365 days of the year, barring some major injury to a key player on a top contender that could close the market until further information is revealed. Most of the other NFL futures markets experience a couple weeks, maybe up to a month, of downtime after a season concludes. Though, we do typically see sportsbooks hold off on releasing any markets for Rookie of the Year awards until closer to the draft, making them only available for about nine months of the year.
These are all the NFL team futures markets we are tracking:
- Super Bowl Odds
- NFL Conference Championship Odds
- NFL Divisional Odds
- Odds to Make the NFL Playoffs
- NFL Win Totals
We have been tracking all of these NFL futures markets for a long time now, and have plenty of data you can take advantage of. Whether you want to see the latest odds available for any given NFL futures market, shop for the best line, or look back at how that specific betting market has changed over the course of the season (or any previous season), we have you covered with our dedicated pages above.
There are plenty of other NFL team futures you can bet, including the team to win/lose the most games, the team to score the most/fewest points etc. but we typically see these markets close down once the season starts. So, we do not track them with a dedicated page, but we do offer our predictions and expert analysis on where the value is for most of them in our NFL news.
These are the NFL player futures we are currently tracking:
- NFL MVP Odds
- NFL Defensive Player of the Year Odds
- NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year Odds
- NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year Odds
- NFL Coach of the Year Odds
- NFL Comeback Player of the Year Odds
We do not currently track NFL Offensive Player of the Year futures, as sportsbooks are typically reporting very little betting handle on this market. In spite of it being very different from the MVP award, OPOY is reportedly very secondary. If we do see any betting handle pick up, we will invest some resourcing into tracking that NFL futures market as well.
With the NFL Draft being such a spectacle, we are also tracking many of the props available around the draft each year. You can see them all on our NFL Draft Odds page, including but not limited to, which team will have the first pick, which player will be selected first overall, and draft position over/unders.
