The Seattle Storm are facing the Las Vegas Aces in the WNBA semifinals, but it’s the Storm who are dealing. Seattle is 3-0 straight up in the WNBA postseason.
- The Storm opened this best-of-five series by handing the Aces a 76-73 home-court setback. Seattle is the only squad yet to taste defeat.
Oddsmakers are sticking with the Western Conference champion and #1-seeded Aces in Game 2. Las Vegas is set as a 6-point home favorite to pull even in the series. Las Vegas is a dismal 4-11 against the spread over the club’s past 15 home games.

Jewell Loyd scored the final six points and 10 of the Storm’s last 12 points to secure their victory. Loyd and teammate Brenna Stewart each finished the night with a game-high 26 points.
Stewart added six rebounds and three blocks. Meanwhile, Tina Charles cleaned the glass. She was grabbing down 18 rebounds to go with her 13 points.
Aces Usually Reliable Finishers At Home
Home losses are rare occurrences for the Aces. They’re 7-1 SU in the club’s last eight home games. Las Vegas did suffer four successive home losses earlier this season, though.
Another major Seattle advantage in Game 1 was a 16-0 dominance in fast break points. During regular-season play, Las Vegas led the WNBA with 11.7 fast break points per game.

Las Vegas was also the WNBA’s stingiest regular-season squad when it came to turning the ball over. The Aces averaged just 11.7 turnovers per game. They committed 11 turnovers in Game 1.
Seattle Storm vs Las Vegas Aces Prediction
Seattle is 6-2 SU over the past eight games. Both losses were to Las Vegas. The Storm are a middling 4-5 SU over the club’s past nine road games. Forward Gabby Williams (concussion) missed Game 1 and will remain out for Seattle in Game 2.

The Stewart vs A’ja Wilson showdown will play a big part in determining which team wins this series. Stewart is a WNBA MVP favorite and is leading the playoffs with 22.7 PPG. Meanwhile, Wilson is the WNBA Defensive Player of the Year, leading the league with 1.9 blocks per game. The Game 1 edge went decisively to Stewart. Wilson can’t allow that to continue.
