The Indiana Fever (1-7, 0-3 home) face off against the Seattle Storm (4-3, 2-2 away) Thursday night from Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana. The game is set to be aired on Prime Video at 7 p.m. ET.

As their records indicate, the Storm are the more capable team in this matchup, but all eyes are on the home team regardless. This is because of star rookie Caitlin Clark, who dropped a career high 30 points in Tuesday’s home loss to the Los Angeles Sparks.

Clark is already a star and leads the Fever in multiple categories such as Points per game and Assists per game for the Fever. The Storm, on the other hand, are led by Nneka Ogwumike and Jewell Loyd, who  boast over 20 years of WNBA experience combined.

Indiana Fever vs. Seattle Storm Prediction

That experience is important for Seattle and gives them the obvious advantage tonight. The Fever are still searching for their first home victory of the season, but it’ll be a tough ask for Clark and Kelsey Mitchell to get things done.

This is not the first meeting between these 2 teams this season. The Fever played well against the Storm in Seattle just over a week ago, falling 85-83. Clark scored an inefficient 21 points in that game, but the real star was Loyd who dropped 32 points with 11 rebounds and 6 assists.

If Indiana wants any chance tonight, they’ll need the Caitlin Clark from Tuesday to show up, and then some. Unfortunately for the Fever, Seattle just has more in terms of reliable scoring.

The last game Indiana and Seattle played just barely went under this total, which is set for 168.5 Thursday. The over is the slight favorite, but neither has pulled away.

When betting the point total Thursday keep in mind that, other than Clark, the Fever really, really struggle to score. Kelsey Mitchell is good for a little over 15 points a game, but no other player is guaranteed to break 10 or so. When facing a good team such as Seattle, even at home, that’s a massive problem.

And while Seattle isn’t at the bottom of the pack in terms of offensive production in the WNBA like Indiana, they’re still far from elite. Seattle scores 81 points per game, which ranks 7th out of 12. For that reason, and because it’s gone under this total before, keep some consideration on the under when making a bet tonight.

Caitlin Clark, Star Player Props for May 30

Player Props (Fever vs. Storm) Odds
Caitlin Clark over 20.5 Points -110
Jewell Loyd over 21.5 Points -135
NaLyssa Smith under 7.5 Rebounds +100

Clark and the Fever may be losing now, but it’s obvious that it won’t be the case for very long across her career in the league. She’s scored 20 or more points in half her games as a pro so far and is fresh off a 30-point performance in a game where she really wasn’t all that efficient. As she adjusts to the flow of the WNBA, her numbers can only go up. And considering Seattle is far from a defensive powerhouse, Clark should be eating again tonight.

Loyd had her best game of the season thus far in Seattle’s last meeting against Indiana, and there’s plenty of reason to thinks she can match it tonight in Indianapolis. Take a look at her dominance from that game below:

Smith is averaging under this total this season and has missed this 7.5 mark in 4 of her last 5 contests. It is worth noting that she grabbed 11 in the last game against Seattle, though. Will she be able to repeat it? That’s another question.
