A rain-delayed first two days at the All England Lawn Tennis & Croquet Club, has already produced one major upset with +1500 underdog Francisco Comesana beating #6 seed Andrey Rublev (6-4, 5-7, 4-1) in the former’s second-ever match on grass.

With several of Tuesday’s matches being pushed back to Wednesday, here are my Wimbledon best bets for July 3.

Halys vs Eubanks Prediction

Due to rain delays, it’s not clear yet if Quentin Halys vs Christopher Eubanks is going to take place late on Tuesday night or early on Wednesday morning, so if you want to wager on it, do so sooner rather than later.

Eubanks and Halys finished the 2023 season fifth and sixth, respectively, in ATP’s “Serve Effectiveness”. Halys only had a 59.2 first-serve percentage, but no player won more first-serve points than the lanky Frenchman (79.9%).

Halys has had a pretty miserable 2024, dropping from 100th in the world to 220th, but he started his grass-court campaign brightly with a trio of wins in Wimbledon qualifying, surrendering just six break-point chances and one break of serve over eight sets.

Eubanks is just 2-3 on grass so far this season, including back-to-back losses to Zhizhen Zhang (6-4, 4-6, 7-5) and 18-year-old Jakub Mensik (6-3, 3-6, 6-1) and as you can see only one of his past six sets went over 10.5 games. But this match was taylor-made for multiple tiebreaks, and DraftKings has over 10.5 priced at -105. (The over is closer to -130 at most other sportsbooks).

Andreescu vs Noskova Prediction

Former US Open champion Bianca Andreescu has made a brilliant start to her comeback. In her first tournament since August 2023, Andreescu won two matches on clay (her worst surface) at the French Open before bowing out to eventual finalist Jasmine Paolini in three sets. Next time out at the Rosmalen Grass Court Championships, she won her first four matches over Eva Vedder (world #347), Yue Yuan (#39), Danila Galfi (#127), and four-time major-champion Naomi Osaka, who is sitting at #113 in the world during her own comeback attempt.

Andreescu eventually fell to Liudmila Samsonova (#15) in the final (6-4, 6-2).

After a strong start to the 2024 season, including a quarterfinal appearance at the Aussie Open, the 19-year-old Noskova has been inconsistent of late. She is just 3-2 on grass over the past two weeks, beating veteran Angelique Kerber (who’s fallen to world #221), Taylor Townsend (#76), and most-recently Sara Errani (#86) in the first round at Wimbledon. But she hasn’t won back-to-back matches since February.

love getting Andreescu at plus-money on this fast surface.

Sinner vs Berrettini Prediction

The world #1 started his Wimbledon campaign with a four-set win over Yannick Hanfmann (6-3, 6-4, 3-6, 6-3) and now gets a very tough second-round matchup with fellow Italian and grass-court savant Matteo Berrettini.

The former world #6, who nearly dropped out of the top 100 during an injury-plagued 2023, is back with a vengeance. He reached the final in Stuttgart, beating four tough opponents in Roman Safiullin (#44), under-ranked Denis Shapovalov (#121), James Duckworth (#81), and Lorenzo Musetti (#25), before falling to world #28 Jack Draper in three sets.

In 2021 and 2022, Berrettini combined to go 20-1 on grass. He reached the Wimbledon final in 2021 and, after missing the 2022 edition, made it to the fourth round last year during an otherwise pedestrian season for the 6’5 Italian.

No one is denying Sinner should be a heavy favorite; he’s coming off a semi-final appearance here last year and has only lost three matches all season. But Berrettini is extremely difficult to break on grass.
