Alejandro Davidovich Fokina vs Tommy Paul Prediction
The Spaniard and American will go head-to-head for the first time in their careers on Wednesday. The two are set to take to Court 7 at the Australian Open at 7 pm ET.
Neither player had an easy first-round match. Davidovich Fokina took the full five sets to win, while Paul had a set go to a tiebreak.
On route to his win, Davidovich Fokina recorded 69 winners, along with seven aces, and only three double faults. He was locked in with his serve.

Paul managed to record 45 winners en route to his first-round win over Germany’s Jan-Lennard Struff. He too had a strong serve during the match. He blasted an impressive 20 aces, with just one double fault.
These two match up pretty well, making for what should be an exciting match. The match could go either way, so look for the distance as the best bet for your Australian Open picks.
Best Bet: Over 4.5 sets (+240)
Ben Shelton vs Nicolas Jarry Prediction
Shelton and Jarry will face off tonight at 9 pm ET at 1573 Arena at the Australian Open. This will be the first meeting between the two.
Shelton is the young American that could be having his breakout tournament on one of the biggest stages. The 20-year-old defeated Zhizhen Zhang in five sets in the first round, recording 66 winners, while blasting 18 aces.

The American has never competed in the Australian Open before, and has the ability to make an unexpected deep run here.
Jarry, a qualifier has earned his way to the second round after winning three qualifying matches and his first round.
Much like his second-round opponent, Jarry was strong on serve, dishing out 21 aces with no double faults, while recording 49 winners.
Something to note in this match is that Shelton’s just played the one match, as Jarry has had to play four. The fatigue shouldn’t set in just yet, but it is possible it starts to show. With a possibility of two weeks of main draw play, the Grand Slams always test everyone’s ability to stay sharp.
This should be a fun match to watch.
Best Bet: Shelton 4-1 (+370)
Diego Schwartzman vs JJ Wolf Prediction
Schwartzman and Wolf will face each other tonight at 9 pm ET on Court 3 at the Aussie Open. This will be their first career meeting.
Surprisingly, Schwartzman is the underdog heading into this match with +145 moneyline Australian Open odds. The Argentinian did withdraw from the ASB Classic last week due to injury, and that might be part of the reason. But the World No. 26 shouldn’t be written off in your Australian Open picks, he’s had his fair share of success at the Grand Slam level.
America’s Wolf is playing great tennis at the moment. The 24-year-old Ohio State alum turned pro in 2019 and is slowly making waves in the tennis world. He will be looking to make the third round of a Grand Slam for the third time already in his short career.
But Wolf has no experience at the Australian Open, and that’s where Schwartzman can take advantage. With Wolf coming in as the favorite, there might be some pressure there that he hasn’t felt before, and could work in the Argentinian’s favor.
Best Bet: Schwartzman (+145)
