  • Team USA  goes for Gold on Saturday after a thrilling comeback against Serbia. Team USA now faces France, the strongest remaining competitor at the Olympics.
  • France has loads of NBA talent at its disposal, most notably post stars Rudy Gobert and Victor Wembanyama. France has lost just once in Paris these Olympics.
  • See the best picks, odds and a prediction for Saturday’s game below.

Team USA and France were always the strongest basketball teams that made the trip to Paris, France for the 2024 Summer Olympic Games. France, like the USA, has legitimate NBA talent such as Rudy Gobert, Victor Wembanyama, Nicolas Batum and Evan Fournier.

But Team USA is a different beast entirely. The United States struggled with Serbia, but advanced to the Gold Medal game on the back of a couple strong performances from Steph Curry, Lebron James and Kevin Durant. France will have to give it everything they have and more to earn the Gold on Saturday.

Team USA is, as they’ve been the entire tournament, a heavy favorite to win the Gold Saturday afternoon. The U.S. are 16.5-point favorites and -1600 to win outright. France is +800 to win outright and -115 to keep the game within 16 points.

The Over/Under for this matchup has been set at 176.5, a number the USA has surpassed in each and every game they’ve played thus far. Keep in mind though, the U.S. and France have yet to face off and France is by far the best defensive team in the field aside from the United States.

Player Props for Team USA vs. France (August 10)

Player Props Odds
LeBron James O 15.5 Points +105
Devin Booker O 1.5 3-Pointers Made -130
Victor Wembanyama O 10.5 Rebounds +110

All odds above via DraftKings Sportsbook.

I am never going to bet against LeBron James in a championship game, especially how he’s played thus far in Paris. I’d expect a 20-point outing from The King Saturday.

Booker’s role on the floor at this point is to drain 3s, and he’s done well so far in Paris. Asking him to knock down a pair when France’s main objective is going to be to own the paint seems like a good wager.

Wembanyama has been France’s most complete player in Paris, and I don’t see that stopping on Saturday. He’ll be their go-to for offense when they need it and he’s the tallest player on the floor. Wembanyama totaled 12 rebounds in his last game and will be a major factor in which team owns the boards on Saturday.

Team USA vs. France Prediction

  • Team USA vs. France: France +16.5

If you’ve followed along through some of my Olympic coverage these past few weeks, you’ll know I love betting the spread against the United States. Never for a second do I actually think the USA will lose, but oddsmakers seem to love underestimating the world when it comes to basketball.

South Sudan and Serbia both covered against the United States, and I’m betting France will too. In the end though, the USA has more talent and more experience – given France’s best player these Olympics has been a 20-year old. He may be the future of the league, but LeBron James has been in the NBA longer than Wembanyama has been alive!

Team USA 105, France 94
