EPL Picks

It’s the final weekend in the Premier League and among the things to be decided are which teams will suffer the drop. Each of Everton, Leeds and Leciester are alive in the EPL relegation odds and our EPL picks will include plays from two of these three teams.

Leeds vs Tottenham Prediction

There’s plenty on the line here with Tottenham still in with a shot at European qualification, albeit to only the Conference League. They’re sitting on 57 points in eighth, but just one point back of seventh place Aston Villa.

Meanwhile, Leeds have the relegation odds stacked against them. They’re 19th with 31 points. They, and Leicester will be hoping to leapfrog Everton with 33 points who are holding down the final safety spot in 17th.

Spurs’ games average the highest goals per game this season at 3.5, while Leeds’ are fourth-highest at 3.3.

It was a 4-3 Spurs’ win earlier this season. In recent head-to-heads since 2021 with Leeds back in the EPL, scorelines have also read 4-0, 2-1, 3-1 and 3-0.

Leeds’ hopes of picking up all three points look bleak considering they’re winless in eight. However, they keep scoring and a bet on both teams to score is on a 12-0 run in their games. Both teams scoring and over 2.5 goals is also 11-1 during that stretch.

Tottenham games have seen a similar trend with 10/11 seeing both teams scoring and 9/11 also going over 2.5. We’ll follow that trend again this weekend in our Leeds vs Tottenham picks.

Leicester vs West Ham Prediction

Leicester hasn’t won often this season, but one of their only eight wins did come against West Ham (2-0) in the reverse fixture. That was the lowest-scoring outcome between the sides in recent years with each of the other previous seven meetings seeing betwen three, four or even five goals.

Leicester will need to pull the double over the Hammers this season if they have any hope of survival as they’re currently 18th on 31 points and two back of Everton with 33.

They have a shot. West Ham owns the fourth-worst road record in the division, and have nothing left to play for in the league. David Moyes could also rotate some players as he prepares for the Conference League Final versus Fiorentina on June 7.

But nothing has been working for the Foxes this season and there’s little reason to expect things to change on the final matchday. They drew on the road to Newcastle on Monday which is a decent result, but Leicester have just a single win in their past 16 matches.

It’s win or bust for the Foxes so they’ll need to attack and thus will leave their porous defense exposed. Let’s back goals from both sides here in our soccer picks today.

Bundesliga Picks

It’s one of the most exciting Bundesliga seasons in recent memory with the title to be decided on the final matchday this Saturday with BVB big favorties in the Bundesliga odds. A win for Dortmund over Mainz will secure their first Meisterschale since since 2012. But Bayern Munich can still claim their 11th straight title if results go their way. But plenty more is still undecided among the rest the of teams and we’ll focus our attentions there for our Bundesliga picks.

Stuttgart vs Hoffenheim Prediction

The Bundesliga is known for goals and this matchup usually lives up to that. The reverse fixture was 2-2, while recent scores in the past two years have been 2-1, 3-1, 2-0 and 3-3.

Stuttgart’s 4-1 road win over Mainz last week ensured their fate is in their own hands. Sebastian Hoeneß’ side currently own the final safety spot in 15th. However, both Bochum and Schalke could each pass them on the final matchday.

Across all comps, Stuttgart’s recent matches have seen both teams scoring in eight straight and at least three goals scored in six of those eight.

Hoeneß’s Saturday opponent is his former team, Hoffenheim. Die Kraichgauer aren’t technically safe from the relegation playoff game, but a swing of over 20 goals would need to occur for them to actually drop that far down. So there’s realistically little on the line for Hoffenheim in this one. But, current head coach Pellegrino Matarazzo will also be coaching against his former club in Stuttgart.

Their games have also seen plenty of goals with recent scorelines reading 4-2 (W), 2-1 (L) and 3-1 (W). Both teams have scored in eight of their past ten and three or more goals being scored in 7/10. Let’s back plenty of goals in this one for our soccer picks.

Eintracht Frankfurt vs Freiburg Prediction

It’s been a down year for Frankfurt as they sit eigth on the final Bundesliga Matchday with only a slim shot at sixth and a shot in the Conference League. So this match means little in the context of the table, other than it’s the last home game of the season and the last chance to tune up for the DFB-Pokal Final on June 3 against Leipzig in Berlin.

Frankfurt had slumped for much of the new year since late February, but in recent weeks are 2-2-1 across all comps in their past five, scoring ten goals in those five games.

Freiburg knows they have at least clinched a Europa League spot, but if Union Berlin slips up at home to Werder, a Champions League spot could still be in the cards. Both are tied with 59 points, with Union slotted fourth on goal-differential. Freiburg can’t drop down with Leverkusen nine points below.

So it’s all to play for this weekend for Christian Streich’s side. They won 2-0 at home to Wolfsburg last weekend, however, had lost 4-2, 1-0 and 5-1 in their three games prior.

It was 1-1 back in January between these sides. At home, Frankfurt hasn’t failed to score against Freiburg since way back in 2010.

There’s more on the line for Freiburg and they’ve generated the fourth-most shots on target this season, so I’ll back goals from both sides.

We’re going to use this as one leg of a parlay and bet both teams to score.

Bochum vs Bayer Leverkusen Prediction

And for the second leg of the parlay for our soccer picks today we’ll simply ask Bochum to score one goal in our Bundesliga picks.

Bochum currently sits in the relegation playoff position in 16th. They could drop straight into relegation if Schalke (31 points) can pass their 32 points on Saturday. Bochum can also jump all the way to 14th (or an unlikely 15th) with a win and favorable results elsewhere.

On paper this is a mismatch. Leverkusen won 2-0 in the reverse fixture and are sixth in the table. However, Xabi Alonso’s team, after running off an impressive 14 games undefeated across all competitions are currently mired in a run of six winless matches. Goal scoring has dried up of late with just four goals in that stretch.

Leverkusen will want to hold onto their Conference League spot with Wolfsburg only one point behind, but the stakes are much higher for Bochum here. Bochum has given themselves a chance for survival going 1-2-1 in their past four.

They’ve also scored a goal in nine of their past ten and I’ll back them to get on the scoresheet in Bundesliga Matchday 34.

Ligue 1 Picks

The Ligue 1 title is wrapped up, but European placings and relegation are still to be decided. Lille can reach the Europa League while Nantes are fighting for survival. That match will feature in our Ligue 1 soccer picks today.

Lille vs Nantes Prediction

Nantes find themselves in the final relegation spot (17th) in Ligue 1 with just two matchdays to play. With 33 points and Auxerre just above them with 34, they can still achieve safety, making this a near-must-win game. But just because you need to win, doesn’t mean you will. It means you’ve been poor for some time. And that certainly is true of Nantes. La Maison Jaune starting three months back have nosedived.

They’re now winless in across all competitions at 0-3-5 while being outscored 18-6. None of those six goals have even come in their past four games. In fact, the only two wins they’ve achieved in their past 18 games have been in the Cup. Nantes haven’t won a Ligue 1 fixture since February 12.

They’ll come up against a Lille side sitting in fifth with 63 points. They currently hold the Conference League spot, but can still jump Monaco (65 points) for the Europa League, or drop below both Rennes (62) and Lyon (59). Les Douges are in-form with only two defeats (both on the road) in their past 12.

They just defeated third place Marseille 2-1 last round, marking the seventh straight home match where they’ve scored multiple goals. Lille have found the scoresheet at home at least twice in 10/11 home matches and actually haven’t tasted defeat at Stade Pierre Mauroy since August 31.

Serie A Picks

Two matchdays remain in Italy with five teams still alive to claim two more Champions League placings. Two of those, Juventus and AC Milan will meet on Sunday. Meanwhile, newly-promoted Monza can secure a top-half finish, while Lecce’s future in the top-flight is still up in the air.

Monza vs Lecce Prediction

No team has been hotter than Monza in the past ten rounds of Serie A play, going 5-4-1. Only they, Lazio and Atalanta have collected 19 points in that time. Monza is undefeated in eigth games and have lost just once in their past 12, scoring in all but the one defeat (2-0 to Lazio) and scoring mutiple goals in six of those 12.

It will be a party atmosphere at the U-Power Stadium with Monza set to finish in the top half of the table in their first year of promotion. It’s their final home game of the season and they have the chance to put a dagger in fellow promoted side Lecce’s hoeps of survival. Lecee are 16th, three points above Verona who are in the final relegation spot. They’ve won just once in their past 13 and have been outscored 10-3 in their past six road games.

For a big price (+155), I’ll take a Monza win for my Serie A picks.
