Pumas UNAM vs CSyD Atlas Betting Trends
Thursday night’s matchup marks the third meeting of 2021 between these two clubs. Pumas played host to each of those contests, both of which finished in scoreless draws, with their most recent clash coming way back on July 25.
Overall, Pumas have held a clear edge in head-to-head action against Atlas, picking up a point in six straight meetings across all competitions.

However, with the exception of a lopsided 5-1 win on home turf in October 2019 that marks their only victory in five home meetings, Pumas has had to battle for points when facing Atlas. In addition to their two recent 0-0 draws, Pumas needed late charges to eke out narrow 2-1 victories in each of their past two road dates with Atlas.
Pumas UNAM Outlook
After being blanked by Club America for the third time in four meetings by a 0-0 draw on home turf to open their quarterfinal clash, Pumas responded with an impressive offensive performance in last week’s second leg. Undaunted after surrendering an early goal, the Universitarios rebounded with three straight goals, knocking off America and punching their ticket to the semis.
🇪🇨 Washington Corozo scores to put Pumas up 2-1 in the #LigaMX quarterfinals vs. Club America!!!

Forward Washington Corozo powered the comeback, potting both the tying and winning goal in last weekend’s second leg. While Corozo’s first multi-goal performance since making his Liga MX debut is welcome, the 23-year-old will have to be on his best behavior on Thursday night after also picking up a yellow card.

Juan Ignacio Dinenno will also have to watch his step in Thursday’s contest. The talented 27-year-old Argentinian has emerged as the club’s top goalscorer this season with six goals through 19 appearances and twice found a goalpost in Pumas’ dominating win over America last weekend. However, he has also been handed yellow cards in two of his past three outings.

CSyD Atlas Outlook
Atlas are unlikely to be satisfied with the way that they advanced to this year’s Apertura semi-final. While the club enjoyed a steady march to second place on the table, they have been far from a dominant force in recent weeks. The Zorros have posted just two wins over their past seven contests across all competitions, and have been held off the scoresheet on four occasions during that stretch, including the scoreless draw on the road in first-leg action with Monterrey.
🇲🇽 Playoffs: Huge surprise happened tonight when America and Monterrey were eliminated in the QF. America lost at home 3-1 against Pumas (1-3 on agg.), and Atlas eliminated Monterrey (1-1 on agg. but finished in a higher place) and returns to the semi-final after 17 years! pic.twitter.com/p3qDGc13qc

Things have gone somewhat better for this club on the road, where they have compiled a respectable 4-4-1 win-draw-loss record over their past nine league dates, while outscoring opponents by a 13-6 margin. Indeed, Atlas have managed to limit opponents to one or fewer goals in 11 of 12 away contests since last March, and have racked up road wins by three or more goals on three occasions during that stretch.

Julio Furch provided the club with all the scoring they needed last time out, striking early on a penalty kick in the 18th minute of their 1-1 draw with Monterrey. Overall, the veteran Argentine striker has scored three times in his past five outings and sports attractive +600 odds of scoring at anytime on Thursday night.
