Vancouver Whitecaps vs Austin FC | -138 | +300 | +350 |
Wednesday’s MLS matches see LAFC listed as the biggest favorites at -175 odds over expansion side St. Louis City. San Jose and Seattle is seen as dead-even by oddsmakers with both teams priced at +162 in the MLS Week 25 odds and the draw being just +220.
Austin travels to Vancouver in one of the late games in great form. No team since June 21 has scored more goals (11) or recorded more points (10) than the Verde and Black. The Verde are big underdogs (+350) and the Over 2.5 is juiced to -188 in the MLS odds. Meanwhile, CF Montreal are big road underdogs at +350 as they have just one road win in 11 games and have only scored in three of those 11 road games.
Nashville has won 8/10 at home across all competitions and is undefeated in each of those past ten home games and will host the Union as +105 favorites.

MLS Picks Today
There were lots fo goals on the weekend with 43 goals scored across 14 games and six players scoring their first-ever MLS goals. We won’t see the same thing with only nine games on Wednesday, but we’re still hoping for some goal-heavy games in our MLS picks today.
New England Revolution vs Atlanta United Prediction
We’ll start off in the East with third place New England (37 points) hosting fifth place Atlanta (35 points). The teams played in Atlanta earlier this season in a 3-3 draw.
It’s Atlanta in the better form right now having won back-to-back games heading into this one. They won 1-0 on the road in Montreal on Saturday and 2-0 at home to Philadelphia in their match prior.
New England is winless in two, losing 2-1 in New York to Red Bulls on Saturday and drawing 2-2 in Cincinnati before that. Both of those games came on the road though. Saturday’s loss came with ten men after Latif Blessing was shown red in the 60′ minute and also withouth Carles Gil who was serving a suspenion. The Revs still had a chance to draw level with a goal in stoppage time that was called back by VAR.
They’ll be out Blessing on Wednesday, but get back Gil. And get back on their home pitch where they’re still undefeated at 7-3-0 (23 GF/9 GA). Gillette Stadium has been a fortress for Bruce Arena’s side as they’re undefeated in 11 and have just two defeats in their past 24 home games.
Atlanta may have won on the road in their last game, but that’s only their second road win this season, first in nine road games and just their third road win in their past 26 away from home. They could again be without leading scorer Giorgios Giakoumakis through injury.
New England had been undefeated in seven prior to Saturday’s loss and we’ll back them to get back into the win column Wednesday in our New England vs Atlanta picks.

Houston Dynamo vs Minnesota United Prediction
Eighth in the west Houston (28 points) hosts 11th in the conference Minnesota (24 points) at 8:30 pm EST Wednesday.
The Dynamo are one of the league’s top home teams at 7-2-1 and are the top home team in the West with 19 goals scored to just five conceded. They failed to win at home on Saturday though, drawing 2-2 with SKC and only barely rescued a point through a 98′ minute stoppage-time equalizer from Ivan Franco. They created plenty of opportunites with a 2.74 xG along with 21 shots and eight on target. That extends Houston’s undefeated streak to four games at home, however, overall they’re winless in three.

Minnesota got routed on their own pitch on Saturday, losing 4-1 to Austin FC, giving them just one win in their past seven games. But there were some bright spots. Finnish star Teemu Pukki made his debut, albeit once the game got out of reach at 3-0. But he had moments and should link up with Emanuel Reynoso for many goals down the stretch run of the season. The Loons still created a 2.39 xG, 23 shot attempts and seven shots on target. But they also gave up a 3.94 xG and seven shots on target.
This will be the third meeting this season between the teams. Minnesota won 1-0 at home in the league and Houston won 4-0 at home in the US Open Cup, both coming in May. However, in league play, the Loons have won six straight over the Dynamo.
Minnesota has been solid on their travels at 4-1-6 but only one of those wins have come in their past eight on the road. In those eight games they’ve allowed multiple goals in six of those eight.
That trend should continue going into a tough place to play like Shell Energy Stadium. But Minnesota have more offensive weapons this time for this time matchup that should open this game up.
- MLS Picks: Both teams to score (-150); risk 1 unit Caesars Sportsbook
Sporting Kansas City vs Real Salt Lake Prediction
Sticking in the Western Conference, it’s another 8:30 pm EST game between 10th placed Sporting KC hosting fourth place Real Salt Lake.
Sporting’s form has been inconsistent. They only have one win in their past five but are 1-2-2 in those five. But they’ve also only lost twice in their past nine. Both of those losses did come at home. They have scored the most goals (25) in the league since May 1.
Salt Lake though have been rolling of late going undefeated in seven in MLS and eight across all comps. Across all comps they have just one defeat in 13. On Saturday, Cristian Arango made his debut for RSL against Orlando and quickly opened his account with a goal in the 23′ minute, kicking off a flood of goals by RSL as they went on to win 4-0.
MLS Golden Boot Leaders
Player (Team) | Goals |
---|---|
Hany Mukhtar (NAS) | 13 |
Denis Bouanga (LAFC) | 12 |
Luciano Acosta (CIN) | 10 |
Cristian Espinoza (SJ) | 10 |
Julian Carranza (PHI) | 10 |
Alan Pulido (SKC) | 10 |
Jesus Ferreira (DAL) | 10 |
Giorgios Giakoumakis (ATL) | 10 |
What’s been consistent for both teams this season have been high-scoring games. RSL is 15-7 to Over 2.5 totals, tied for tops (Atlanta and Charlotte) in all of MLS. Meanwhile, SKC isn’t far behind at 14-9. SKC home games are 7-4 to the Over. RSL road games are also 7-4 to the Over.
Alan Pulido has been on fire (9 goals, 7 games) after a knee injury sidelined him a year ago. pic.twitter.com/FTDBaNj4j4
— Major League Soccer (@MLS) July 11, 2023
SKC’s Alan Pulido is one of the hottest strikers in the league right now with ten goals, ranking third in the Golden Boot race. He scored twice on the weekend, has three goals in his past two games, nine goals in his past seven and has goals in six of those seven games.
But RSL now have a legitimate striker in Arango and are the league’s top road team at 6-2-3. No team has more points (20) or goals scored (15) than RSL do away from home.
Let’s once again bet on goals for our MLS predictions in this one. You could go both teams to score and over 2.5 at -105 in the MLS odds at Bet365 or the safer play of just both teams to score at -160 at Caesars.
