There is no clear favorite here, with France sitting at +150, just slightly above England at +195. The French do have -130 World Cup odds to advance, however, while the Brits sit at +108.
Overall, the Three Lions are the dominant side in this matchup throughout history. But, Les Bleus has won four of the last six meetings. It is important to note that just two of those were competitive fixtures, though.
Over/Under & Spread
For Saturday’s affair, the total is set at 2.5 goals. The over comes in at +106, while the under is at -130.

England vs France Preview
Aside from a scoreless draw with the US in the group stages, England has certainly looked the part in Qatar. They’ve scored 12 goals in four games and conceded just twice, putting their attacking prowess on full display. Both Bukayo Saka and Marcus Rashford have netted three times apiece, but the real workhorse is 19-year-old, Jude Bellingham.
The Borussia Dortmund man was the leading catalyst against Senegal, setting up the first goal with a beautiful assist to Jordan Henderson and then also playing a huge part in the second as well on the counter. Gareth Southgate’s side is honestly more talented man-for-man than France, but the key will be shutting down Kylian Mbappe. Kyle Walker will be tasked with that job. If he can keep him at bay, England has a very good chance of progressing.
England vs France Key Stats
3-1-0 | Record in World Cup | 3-0-1 |
12 | Goals Scored | 9 |
2 | Goals Conceded | 4 |
5.2 | Shots on Target Per Game | 6.2 |
The defending champions were dealt several injury blows before the tournament, with N’Golo Kante, Karim Benzema, Christopher Nkunku, and Paul Pogba all being ruled out. But, that hasn’t hurt them one bit. France is more than capable of being in the final again thanks to their talisman Mbappe. The 23-year-old leads the Golden Boot race with five goals and two assists. He’s an absolute handful for basically any defender on the globe.
🗣 "When I'm watching him on video I'm lying in my bed and when I'm playing him in real life he's burning my legs."

Olivier Giroud has also been a pleasant surprise as well, finding the back of the net three times. It was the front two who led the way against Poland in the Round of 16. Giroud struck just before halftime courtesy of an assist from his strike partner, while Mbappe netted twice in the second period, both in thumping fashion. England is Les Bleus’ first real test in the World Cup and Mbappe’s involvement will definitely be a factor.
England vs France Line-Ups & Injuries
England Projected Line-Up:Â Pickford; Walker, Stones, Maguire, Shaw; Bellingham, Rice, Henderson; Saka, Kane, Foden
 England Injuries: N/A
France Projected Line-Up: Lloris; Kounde, Varane, Upamecano, T. Hernandez; Tchouameni, Rabiot; Dembele, Griezmann, Mbappe; Giroud
France Injuries: Kante, Nkunku, Benzema, Pogba
England vs France Prediction
The Three Lions definitely have more depth on their bench, especially in the final third. But, I just think Mbappe is going to cause them problems. He can play all over the frontline and if he decides to switch sides at times, they’re in trouble. Walker is the only one with the pace to stop him. It only takes one slip-up for the PSG man to make England pay and Giroud is in fine form, too. I’m liking France.
Pick: France +145
