After splashing the cash in the January transfer window, Chelsea will be looking to string together some results starting Friday as they face a surprising Fulham side who have impressed this term. The kick-off is scheduled for 3 PM ET at Stamford Bridge in London. Read on for the Chelsea vs Fulham prediction.
The Blues haven’t played since January 21st, settling for a scoreless draw with Liverpool at Anfield. As for the Cottagers, they suffered a 1-0 defeat to Tottenham on the 23rd of last month on home soil. In fact, their last victory in Premier League play was back on January 12th against Chelsea.

The Blues head in as a clear -160 moneyline favorite for an implied win probability of 61.54% in the Chelsea vs Fulham odds. Fulham comes back at +450 EPL odds. That’s just an 18% chance of coming out victorious.
But as previously mentioned, the visitors ran out as 2-1 winners in the return fixture in January thanks to a 73rd-minute winner from Carlos Vinicius.
Over/Under & Spread
The total for goals is set at 2.5 here with the over coming in at -115 and the under sitting at -110 in the Chelsea vs Fulham odds.
Chelsea vs Fulham Preview
The Blues are undoubtedly in unfamiliar territory right now as they occupy 10th place in the table with just 29 points from 20 games. Graham Potter’s side is a whole 10 points back of Manchester United, who sit in fourth in the final Champions League spot. And while Chelsea did just spend big in the transfer window, there is still a lot of work to be done.

The biggest issue, as per usual, is their inability to score, netting just 22 times this term. The Blues lack a true No. 9 and have failed to address that problem. Coming into Thursday, Potter’s men have won just one of their last five outings, tasting defeat three times during that span to Man City twice in league and cup play, while also falling to Fulham. On a more positive note, Chelsea won seven straight against the Cottagers before the loss in January.

Fulham is certainly exceeding expectations in 2022-23 after earning promotion. Marco Silva’s side is very well in the mix for a Europa League placing at the moment, which is practically unheard of for this club. Aleksandar Mitrovic is firing on all cylinders in the final third for the Lilywhites, accounting for 11 of the club’s 32 Premier League goals.

However, Fulham isn’t in great form lately when considering your Chelsea vs Fulham picks. They’re winless in three, losing to Newcastle and Spurs before playing to a 1-1 draw with Sunderland in the FA Cup last weekend. The Cottagers have scored just once during that span. If they can collect three points here, it’ll be the first time ever Fulham pulls off the league double against Chelsea.
Chelsea vs Fulham Projected Starting Lineups & Injuries
Chelsea Projected Lineup: Arrizabalaga; Chalobah, Thiago Silva, Badiashile; Azpilicueta, Kovacic, Hall, Cucurella; Mount, Mudryk, Havertz
Injuries & Absences: Pulisic, Felix, James, Kante, Zakaria, Fofana, Sterling, Mendy, Broja, Chilwell
Fulham Projected Lineup: Leno; Tete, Diop, Ream, Robinson; Palhinha, Reed, Andreas Pereira; Decordova-Reid, Mitrovic, Willian
Injuries & Absences: Kebano
As you can see, Chelsea is the more depleted side here. Joao Felix is still serving a suspension for his red card against Fulham in January, while numerous others are injured including Raheem Sterling, Christian Pulisic, and Reece James.
Fulham, on the other hand, looks to be in full health.
Chelsea vs Fulham Prediction
Despite the host of absences, I expect the Blues to find a result n my Chelsea vs Fulham picks. There’s definitely excitement after the transfer window around the club and they will be motivated to respond after losing to Fulham not long ago. But, expect the Cottagers to give them a serious run for their money.
Chelsea vs Fulham Picks: Chelsea to win by one goal (+215)
