Blues in Tremendous Form
Chelsea head into this clash in tip-top shape, tasting defeat just once in their last 16 league games. The Blues have looked like a whole new side since the arrival of Thomas Tuchel, with the German even leading them to a Champions League final after beating Real Madrid last week.
Sunday’s meeting with City was a sneak peek at what we can expect on May 29th, although the hosts did rest two key players in Phil Foden and Kevin De Bruyne. Nonetheless, Chelsea looked brilliant against the Citizens, putting together a very impressive attacking display. After going down by a goal in the first half, the Blues responded with an equalizer early in the second period via Hakim Ziyech.

Then with a lone point hanging in the balance, Marcos Alonso scored an injury-time winner for Tuchel’s men to keep Man City’s champagne on ice for a little bit longer.
With the victory, they likely secured their hopes of a top-four finish. Thanks to Leicester’s shock defeat to Newcastle, Chelsea was able to leapfrog the Foxes and slide into third spot for the time being.

The Blues have now conceded just three times in their last 10 competitive matches. The backline has been rock-solid and they will be looking to shut down a Gunners attack that has been rather uninspiring all term. To boot, the hosts haven’t lost at Stamford Bridge to Arsenal in eight meetings, with their last defeat against them coming way back in October of 2011.
Disappointment for Arsenal
The 2020/21 campaign has been an absolute write-off for the Gunners. They’ve missed out on any shape or form of European football for the first time in 26 years. Mikel Arteta’s side also crashed out of the Europa League semifinals last week at the hands of former manager Unai Emery and Villarreal after a poor showing across two legs.
Currently in ninth place, there isn’t much for Arsenal to play for at this point except for a sense of pride. They simply need to show their fans a reason to have any optimism about the future in North London.

It was no daunting opponent by any means, but their victory against the Baggies over the weekend was a step in the right direction. It was their second consecutive win in Premier League action as well, having beaten Newcastle on Matchday 34.
The Gunners have conceded only three times in the last five domestic appearances while bagging eight goals. Their form on the road has actually been better than on home soil, too, going 8-3-6 this season.

Despite Chelsea looking practically unbeatable right now, there will be some confidence for Arsenal. The side has collected six points in the last two clashes with the Blues and if they can do so again on Wednesday, it would be the first time Arteta’s squad does the double over their English rivals since 2003/04.

Chelsea vs Arsenal Prediction
The Blues have been terrific since the turn of the year and after beating the best team in England’s top flight, I honestly don’t see them losing to someone like Arsenal here.
Both sides were in much different shape in December. Chelsea was under a different manager, while the Gunners weren’t in shambles quite yet. Take the hosts to win and keep a clean sheet.
Pick: Chelsea to Win in Shutout (+165)
