Club Brugge vs Atalanta Best Bet – Over 2.5 Goals

Atalanta has the highest expected goals in Serie A (51.88 xGF in 24 matches) and only Inter Milan matches (3.38) are averaging more goals per game than Atlanta’s 3.33. In UCL play, only two teams scored more than the Nerazzurris 20 GF in the group stage (Barcelona scored 28, Dortmund scored 22). They only allowed six goals in eight group-stage matches, but five of those were in the last three games, and they’ve only kept one clean sheet in their last six domestic games.

Brugge games have gone over 2.5 goals eight times in the last 12, all competitions. Sitting second in the Belgian Pro League, only one team (Westerlo, 3.52) is averaging higher-scoring games than Brugge (3.28).

Brugge tends to play to the style of their opponents – hence a 0-0 draw with Juventus in late January and a pair of 1-0 wins over defensive-minded Leuven in the last few months – and Atlanta is not a team to sit back and defend. Expect goals in this one.

Feyenoord vs AC Milan Prediction – Feyenoord Moneyline

Feyenoord isn’t having the season they were hoping for, domestically, sitting fifth in the Eredivisie after a runner-up finish last season. But their play of late, especially at home, has shown a marked improvement. They clinched their advancement to the knockout stage with a 3-3 draw away at Man City, followed by a 4-2 home win over Sparta Prague, and a stunning 3-0 home victory over Bayern Munich (as +750 home underdogs).

In their last group-stage game, they were walloped 6-1 at Lille in a game that meant little. On Saturday, they rebounded by throttling Sparta Rotterdam, 3-0 home, in league play.

AC Milan is similarly struggling domestically, sitting just seventh in Serie A with a minimal +11 goal differential. They’re just 5-2-4 away with a +1 goal difference.

I was stunned to see Feyenoord as such big home underdogs against a good-but-not-great Milan side. This is an immensely difficult stadium for opposing teams, and I firmly believe the wrong team is favored here.

Celtic vs Bayern Munich Pick – Celtic or Draw Double Chance

Bayern Munich has been on a tear in the Bundesliga. They’re eight points clear of Leverkusen and their +46 goal differential is 24 more than any other team. But they went an embarrassing 1-0-3 in away games during the UCL group stage, and the only win in that span was a 5-1 victory over Ukrainian side Shakhtar Donetsk that was played in Germany because the Ukraine remains a warzone. Two of their three away losses weren’t even close, getting routed by Feyenoord (3-0), as discussed above, and Barcelona (4-1). The third was a 1-0 setback at Aston Villa.

Now the German heavyweights have to go play in freezing-ish rain Glasgow in February. The Hoops have been dominating the Scottish Premiership (13 points clear of arch-rival Rangers with a +61 goal difference in just 25 games) and have proven more than capable of hanging with Europe’s elite. The last German team to come to Celtic Park, RB Leipzig, left with a resounding 3-1 defeat in early November.

Bayern remains the fifth-favorite in the Champions League title odds at +700, while at +15000, Celtic has the fourth-longest odds of any of the 24 remaining teams. But the Glaswegians are being undervalued at home on Wednesday against a Bayern team that really seems to hate travelling.
