Barca unsurprisingly start as odds-on favorites at -185, with a win probability of 65%. Real Sociedad are big outsiders and listed at +450 for the win with an implied probability of just 18%. The draw after 90 minutes is listed at +290.
Barcelona vs Real Sociedad Over/Under and Spread
Despite the Catalans being overwhelming favorites, we have to look at +3.5 for a plus-money bet on the number of goals at +215. The under is therefore on offer at a not-very-tempting -310.
Barcelona vs Real Sociedad Preview
It hasn’t been the smoothest of rides for Barca to get to the last eight – they were given an almighty scare by Intercity in the round-of-32 – but their class did tell in the last 16 when they easily beat third-tier Ceuta; their 5-0 win coming via goals from Robert Lewandowski (2), Franck Kessie, Raphinha and Ansu Fati.
Their league form has been as good as ever – they currently lead Real Madrid at the top of La Liga by three points – but they did disappoint at the weekend in a narrow, edgy 1-0 win over Getafe.

Barca Doing Barca Things
It goes without saying that their record in the Copa del Rey is outstanding, and if they overcome Sociedad it will mean they have qualified for the competition’s semifinals in 11 of the last 13 seasons.
They also come into this game in superb form – six wins on the spin and 11 victories in their last 12 games. The only thing stopping it from being 12 from 12 was a New Year’s Eve draw with neighbors, Espanyol.

Sociedad on a Roll
While it’s almost a given that Barca challenges on all domestic fronts, the same cannot be said of Sociedad, who are usually either mid-table or in the chasing pack. But their current outstanding form tells a very different tale and so good is their current run, it beats Barcelona’s. If Sociedad can win in the Camp Nou, it will be eight wins on the spin.
But to get to this quarterfinal they had to dig deep against Mallorca. After scoring early through Robert Navarro, the blue and whites then had to hold on for 85 minutes to ensure their place in the last eight for the second successive season.

One Goal Conceded in Seven Games!
At the weekend, their winning run was continued thanks to a solid 2-0 La Liga win over Rayo Vallecano, with goals from Alexander Sorloth and Ander Barrenetxea. It left them in third place, only six behind Barca and three behind Real Madrid.
While they have been effective at both ends of the pitch, of late it has been their defense that has been getting them through difficult games, and it’s well worth noting they have conceded just a single goal in their last seven.
Barcelona vs Real Sociedad Team Lineups and Injuries
Barca Projected Lineup: Ter Stegen, Kounde, Araujo, Garcia, Alba, Pedri, Busquets, De Jong, Dembele, Lewandowski, Raphinha.
Injuries & absences: Christensen.
Sociedad Projected Lineup: Remiro, Elustondo, Zubeldia, Le Normand, Rico, Mendez, Illarramendi, Zubimendi, Silva, Sorloth, Oyarzabal.
Injuries & absences: Sola, Merino, Guevara, Gorosabel, Pacheco, Umar, Merquelanz, Cho.
Barcelona vs Real Sociedad Prediction
There is limited value in betting on the Barca home win although the -185 on offer does, to a degree, recognize the quality of their opposition. Sociedad’s amazing run will face its sternest test yet in the Camp Nou but so good has their defense been of late, a draw after 90 minutes isn’t beyond them. For me, that’s the value bet.
