Finally Time for Harvick?
We’re well into the 2019 season – 14 races, to be exact – and Kevin Harvick still doesn’t have a win. That’s somewhat surprising as we’re talking about a driver who won eight times in 2018. However, this week’s track could get him that elusive checkered flag.
To start, his car is still running well. He had the fastest car at Kansas (led for 104 laps) and he was close in Pocono too before a tire violation dropped him back to 22nd. He was running behind Kyle Busch before that.

Harvick dominated this race last year, leading 49 of 133 laps in the spring race, ending up in second place. He also led for 108 laps in the fall race and ended up winning. I’ll take a flier with him here.
Chase Elliott
Sticking with a driver that has recently heated up, Elliott has been knocking on the doorstep for over a month now. He’s finished fifth or better in each of his last five starts overall. He’s also led laps in every race. On top of that, you have to like his track history at Michigan too.

He has an outstanding track record here with an average finish of 5.3 over his last six trips. Elliott has produced runner-up results in two of his last three starts at this race specifically, so adding it all up, he seems like a decent bet to win this race or for a top 5 prop.
Look to Logano
Turning to another driver that has had some success at Michigan in the past, Logano won this race back in 2016 when he edged out Elliott. Logano has placed in the top 10 in six straight editions of the FireKeepers Casino 400.

Based on his recent results, there is every reason to believe that trend will continue this weekend. Logano has averaged a fourth-place finish in his last four starts in the FireKeepers Casino 400. He seems like a safe play for a top 10 prop – at the very least.
Pass on Larson
Kyle Larson will be a popular name this week because of his past success at Michigan International Speedway. After all, he’s won three of the last five races at this track. However, something clearly isn’t right with the driver of the no. 42 Chevrolet, who has finished 19th or worse in six of his last eight races.

Larson did win the All-Star Race but not counting that, he hasn’t won an actual race since 2017. Coming off back-to-back finishes outside of the top 25, Larson seems like a driver to avoid for this week’s FireKeepers Casino 400.
