Busch Looks for Fifth Win
In addition to leading the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series with four wins, Busch has finished fifth or better in five of his last seven races overall. That includes a second-place result last week. He has given himself a shot to win nearly every time out, so he’s to be considered a serious contender this week.

In terms of New Hampshire Motor Speedway specifically, Busch has won this race three times before and he was the runner-up here last year. Among active drivers, he has the second-best average finish (5.00) at this track over the last three races. He’s a good bet here.
Harvick for a Top 10
Harvick is still looking for his first win of the season. Of the drivers in the top-nine in the standings, Harvick is the only driver that has yet to record a win. Considering he is currently tied for the third-most top-ten finishes (11 in 19 starts), it’s safe to say that he is somewhat overdue for a win.

The fact that he is the defending champion of this race adds to the intrigue. He has one win and two top-tens in his last three starts here while picking up a rating of 96.6 – seventh-best in that span. I’m not going to bet him to win outright but a top-ten prop bet seems safe with Harvick.
Bet on Byron?
If you are looking for a dark horse sleeper pick to win the Foxwoods Resort Casino 301, Byron might be the best option on the board.
While he has never won a Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series race, Byron won a race at New Hampshire Motor Speedway in 2015 when he took the checkered flag at the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East. He also was the runner-up in the 2016 UNOH 175 at this track.

With six top-ten finishes to his name this season – including two in the last three weeks and four in his last seven – perhaps this is the week that Byron breaks through with a victory. The safer choice is the bet him for the top-ten prop or use him in driver matchups.
Past 5 Winners at Foxwoods Resort Casino 301
Year | Winning Driver |
---|---|
2018 | Kevin Harvick |
2017 | Denny Hamlin |
2016 | Matt Kenseth |
2015 | Kyle Busch |
2014 | Brad Keselowski |
Pass on Logano
Logano has had his share of highs at New Hampshire Motor Speedway, including winning this race all the way back in 2009. However, this year’s race will mark ten years since Logano won this event, five years since he won the 2014 Sylvania 300 here and he’s really struggled of late.

Logano has finished outside of the top-20 in two of his last four races – including a 25th place finish at Daytona a couple of weeks ago. Eventually, the driver of the No. 22 Penske Racing Ford will bounce back and find his way to victory lane. However, he’s a bit off right now.
