- Will Elizabeth Warren open a beer and will Joe Biden hug anyone on stage are among the betting markets
The next set of Democratic Presidential debates are upon us and sportsbooks are offering you the chance to wager on the vital questions to which all American voters seek answers.
Will Elizabeth Warren crack open a beer during the debates? Will Joe Biden go in for a hug on stage with any of the other contenders?
An uncertain electorate needs to know.
Okay, maybe not. But if you bet the right answer on these and other potential outcomes from the July 30-31 debates in Detroit, then you could be in the money.
That’s the beauty of prop bets. You needn’t back the winning candidate in order to be a winner.
Will Elizabeth Warren Crack Open a Beer During the Debate?
Outcome | Odds |
---|---|
Yes | +1100 |
No | -5000 |
*Odds taken 07/24/19
Warren was mocked on social media after she drank a beer during an Instagram appearance early in the New Year.
I had a terrific time with Mike (our @TeamWarren “Grab a Beer* With Elizabeth” contest winner) and his wife, Linda, from Elma, New York! We had beer and iced tea at my house, then grabbed dinner down the street. Bruce had a lot of fun and Bailey got to meet his new friend! pic.twitter.com/FMMg1xxGkJ

Undeterred, Warren doubled down on her beer-swilling politics. Through a contest, she’s now offering supporters a chance to grab a drink with her if they donate to her presidential campaign.
There’s no way she opens a beer on stage during the debate, though.
Pick: No (-5000)
Will Joe Biden Hug Any of the Candidates on Camera?
Outcome | Odds |
---|---|
Yes | +275 |
No | -450 |
Biden has taken plenty of heat for putting his hands on women and young girls during public appearances. He’s sought to laugh it off but it clearly isn’t a laughing matter with a portion of Democratic voters.

Logically, Biden will keep his hands to himself during the debates. But logic and Biden often don’t arrive together.
Pick: Yes +275
How Many Times Will Biden Mention Barack Obama?
Outcome | Odds |
---|---|
Over 3 | +140 |
Under 3 | -180 |
*”Obamacare” will not count towards the final tally.
Biden needs to rebound after his poor performance during the first debates. His meal ticket is that he was Barack Obama’s Vice-President for eight years.
QUOTE OF THE DAY
Joe Biden: "I know President Trump likes to take credit for the economy… Just look at the facts, not the alternative facts.Trump inherited an economy from Obama-Biden administration that was given to him — just like he inherited everything else in his life."
— PoliticsVideoChannel (@politvidchannel) July 20, 2019
People who are weary of Donald Trump’s reality TV series style White House long for the calm certainty of the Obama Presidency. Biden was part of that, so of course he’ll mention it as much as he can.
Pick: Over 3 (+140)
How Many Times Will Donald Trump Tweet on July 30th?
Outcome | Odds |
---|---|
Over 12.5 | -200 |
Under 12.5 | +150 |
Trump tweeted 31 times on June 26, the first night of the first round of Democratic Presidential debates.
BORING!
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) June 27, 2019
And this was while he was en route to the Far East for a G20 Summit in Osaka, Japan. You’d think he would’ve had other important world leader-type stuff to occupy his time.
Pick: Over 12.5 (-200)
Will OJ Simpson Tweet About the Debate While It Occurs?
Outcome | Odds |
---|---|
Yes | +250 |
No | -400 |
This one’s a tougher call. Juice could be busy searching for the real killers. He might be golfing. Heck, he might be golfing with Trump.

Then again, he did tweet about the first set of Democratic Presidential debates.
Pick: Yes (+250)
Will Andrew Yang Wear a Tie for the Debate?
Outcome | Odds |
---|---|
Yes | +250 |
No | -400 |
This is the easiest money of the night. Will Yang wear a tie?
American retirees deserve every penny of Social Security benefits they earned. They also deserve $1000 a month for being a shareholder of the wealthiest nation in history. This will make sure that seniors can actually retire with dignity. pic.twitter.com/VJd4p2Olos

No. Not now. Not ever.
Pick: No (-400)
Spanish Speaking Props
Prop | Odds |
---|---|
Will Beto O’Rourke Speak Spanish During the Debate – Yes | -200 |
Will Beto O’Rourke Speak Spanish During the Debate – No | +150 |
How Many Candidates Will Speak Spanish During the Debate – Over 2 | +250 |
How Many Candidates Will Speak Spanish During the Debate – Under 2 | -400 |
*Candidate must speak a full sentence in Spanish for “Yes” to be graded as a win.
Ay caramba. There was so much Spanish being spoken on stage during the first night of the last set of debates, if you’d turned on your TV at that precise moment, you might’ve thought you’d switched on Telemundo.
O’Rourke started it, and Julian Castro and Cory Booker quickly added to the conversation.

Beto is closer to being elected Mr. Irrelevant than he is to becoming the Democratic Presidential nominee. He’s desperate to appeal to everyone and anyone in order to salvage his sagging campaign.
You should wager mucho dinero on him speaking Spanish during the debate.

— The View (@TheView) June 30, 2019
Castro and Booker will be debating on the second night, while O’Rourke is slated on the first-night card of candidates. It’s unlikely that we’ll get another throwdown showdown where Beto and Cory seek to impress Castro with how well they paid attention during high school Spanish class.
Pick: Yes On Beto (-200); Under 2 (-400)
Will Marianne Williamson Mention New Zealand?
Outcome | Odds |
---|---|
Yes | +350 |
No | -600 |
We’re convinced that Williamson is Pat Paulsen reincarnated. You’ve got to be of a certain age to remember Paulsen’s mock Presidential campaigns on the Smothers Brothers TV show. Many of Williamson’s out-there policy statements would be right in Paulsen’s wheelhouse.
https://youtu.be/VTHge8q0zwY
Williamson suggested that her initial act as President would be to call Jacinda Ardern, the Prime Minister of New Zealand and tell her, “girlfriend, you are so on.”
What’s Williamson on? Who knows? Might she mention New Zealand again?

It wouldn’t surprise us if she mentioned Lou Zealand, the boomerang fish-throwing Muppet.
Pick: Yes (+350)
Will There Be Another Mic Issue During The Debate, Which Causes the Moderators to Cut to Commercial Break?
Outcome | Odds |
---|---|
Yes | +425 |
No | -800 |
The beauty of live television is the danger. Things can and will go wrong.
A mic issue on NBC during the first night of the opening round of Democratic Presdential debates left candidates unable to hear a question from moderator Chuck Todd, forcing the network to go to commercial.

When you get right down to it, not being able to hear what Chuck Todd was saying, is that really a bad thing?
Technological difficulties happen all the time. But we’ll play the percentages and say they won’t happen during successive debate broadcasts.
Pick: No (-800)
