After three-and-a-half years as White House press secretary, Sanders is slated to step down from the position at the end of the month.
Sanders Made No Friends in DC
Serving as Trump’s mouthpiece, Sanders was frequently left in a position to support the deception of the President, and it’s given her a bad reputation in the US capitol.
There was even an area restaurant that once asked her to leave when she showed up with her family for dinner.

Things got so contentious and confrontational between her and the DC press corps that she stopped holding press briefings in the White House. On rare occasions, Sanders would hold press conferences outside on the White House lawn.
Legendary Name in Arkansas
All of that angst serving Trump won’t mean a hill of beans once she gets home. Her family name alone makes Sanders an instant contender should she enter the gubernatorial race.
Her father, Mike Huckabee, was the 44th Governor of Arkansas from 1996-2007. He was the first Republican two-term governor in state history.
Just Dad talking-I'm profoundly grateful to @realDonaldTrump for the kind, respectful way he treated @PressSec for over 3 yrs she worked for him. Reason I hold most media in contempt is they don't know or care about truth. Thanks, @POTUS for treating Sarah like the lady she is.

She’d have the backing of her dad, one of the most popular political figures in the state. As well, should Trump win re-election, she could also count on the endorsement of a sitting Republican President.
Trump carried Arkansas by 27 points in the 2016 US Presidential Election.
….She is a very special person with extraordinary talents, who has done an incredible job! I hope she decides to run for Governor of Arkansas – she would be fantastic. Sarah, thank you for a job well done!

Arkansas Republican Gov. Asa Hutchinson was re-elected in November. He’s barred from running again by term limits and and the seat will open up in 2022 when he’s barred by term limits from running again.
Sanders hasn’t ruled out a run for Governor. According to published reports, she’s confided in close friends that it makes more sense to her as a next more, as opposed to a TV role.
Of Course She’s Running
Arkansas Attorney General Leslie Rutledge and Lt. Gov. Tim Griffin are contemplating a run for Governor. But once Sanders throws her hat in the ring, she’s the immediate front runner among the Republican candidates.

Career politicians don’t make a move without the next one already being in place. Sanders claims she’s returning to the private sector and is going home to be a mom. No she isn’t. She’s going home to be governor.
At 1-5, it’s not really worth a wager. But to bet on no would merely be making a donation to the sportsbook of your choice.
