On Tuesday, Nike made controversial (ex-)NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick the face of its latest ad campaign.

The company knew the move would not sit well with a certain segment of the population, but the backlash may have gone far beyond what its research and focus groups indicated. Boycotts, apparel immolation, and irate posts have flooded social media all week.

As usual, President Trump had a stance on the issue, and it wasn’t pro-Kaepernick.

The backlash led to Nike’s shares dropping precipitously, falling 3.2% (or the equivalent of $5.2 billion) on Tuesday, alone. It’s rebounded some in the ensuing days as (1) some investors recognize the massive amounts of publicity the company is getting out of this and (2) many Americans have come out in support of Nike and Kaepernick.

Also as usual, sportsbooks are looking to capitalize on the biggest news of the day, and they’ve posted props on what Nike’s share price will be at the end of the week.

Nike’s Closing Share Price on Sep. 7 Sportsbook 1 Odds Sportsbook 2 Odds

UNDER USD $80 (-110) USD $82 (-110)

We’re sports experts, not investment advisors, so we will leave it to the Wall Street types to advise on where the Nike share price is likely to go in the next 48 hours. However, if you are keen on the UNDER, head to sportsbook 2, where it only has to close at $81.99 or lower for the UNDER to cash.

If you are bullish on the Nike stock, go to sportsbook 1, where the OVER pays out as long as the share price closes at $80.01 or higher.
