New York vs New Jersey NHL Betting News
The Devils and Rangers have been fairly healthy all throughout the series. Despite some extremely physical play at times, no true injuries of significance have occurred.
Some on the New Jersey side wonder about Luke Hughes. Should he play?

Surely, some players are banged up on both sides.
New Jersey carries less stable numbers for the Stanley Cup odds at +1600 while New York is just +1400.
Rangers vs Devils Analysis
Both goaltenders did not see a ton of work in Game 4. New Jersey opened the scoring with a Jack Hughes breakaway goal. Then, New York rallied early in the third to tie the game. Â After that, the Devils scored on a pretty setup by Nico Hischier. Jonas Siegenthaler did not miss. Then, New Jersey added an insurance marker to make the margin of victory two.
For this goofy series, the road team has taken all four games. Can a home team finally find a way to use home ice to their advantage?
New Jersey played New York’s style but had more of the quality chances at Madison Square Garden. That being said, Akira Schmid made the saves needed for the Devils.

Yes, fifth on that list lies Akira Schmid. Igor Shesterkin tops that list, but that is one of the reasons why the series is tied. The other is that timely scoring New York counted on has dried up.
So, like we said, this does not become a series until someone wins at home. The question becomes does this finally happen Thursday?

What to make of this series and when does the New Jersey offense truly break out? It has in flashes in this series.
Rangers vs Devils Prediction
What adjustments can both teams make on Thursday night? Can the home team figure out to play at their pace? Can the road team mount something that resembles an NHL-caliber offense. New York scored ten goals in two games in New Jersey then vanished at home (only two goals).
Scoring early would help. With an extra day of rest, is this the night where a few more pucks find the back of the net?
Rangers vs Devils Game 5 Same-Game Parlay
Pick | Odds |
---|---|
Over 5.5 Goals | EVEN |
New Jersey Devils First Goal | -120 |
Same-Game Parlay Odds | +250 |
Schmid and Shesterkin may see more than 45 shots combined this time around. One never knows, but at some point, we may see some more transitional hockey.
Another hard-fought contest looks to be on the docket. Expect a closer affair than Games 1 and 2 in New Jersey. A few more goals and the Devils opening the score is quite possible.
Pick: Same-Game Parlay (+250)
