The clock is ticking on the Flames who need every point they can get down the stretch. Calgary’s issue this season has been an offense that ranks last in the NHL in goals scored. If they aren’t getting goals from Jonathan Huberdeau and Nazem Kadri, they aren’t scoring.

The good news is Flames goalie Dustin Wolf is having a big year with 22 wins in 40 games.

Toronto fans are trying not to panic, but that is what they do. The Leafs have lost five of their last six and are clinging to the third playoff spot in the Atlantic Division.

I love the under here. Calgary’s offense is lousy, and the Maple Leafs are sputtering. I love taking the goal with the Flames. They are likely to be very conservative if they get the lead.

Odds as of March 17 at DraftKings Sportsbook. I know it’s hockey season, but get your March Madness bracket going by checking out our DraftKings review.

The Flames are 24-40-1 over/under this season while Toronto is 31-31-4 on the total.

Calgary has lost three of its last four games against the spread and are just 2-6 against the spread in its last eight games. They are 3-7 in their last 10 over/under.

Toronto is way down against the spread lately. The Maple Leafs are 1-5 against the spread in their last six. Three of their last five games have gone over.

I’ve seen Toronto as 1.5-goal favorites just about everywhere. The total is 5.5 at BetMGM and FanDuel, but six at Caesars.

The best moneyline bet I have seen is Calgary +180 at DraftKings and Toronto -215 at FanDuel. Think before you bet.

Flames vs Leafs Game Notes

Toronto has won the last five meetings, all by a goal, once in a shootout, once in overtime. Five of the last six meetings have hit the over, but I still like the under tonight.

The Maple Leafs beat Calgary 6-3 back in February. William Nylander had a hat trick as the Leafs erased an early deficit. Nylander has 37 goals this season.

The Toronto offense is led by Mitch Marner with 80 points. Captain Auston Matthews missed a chunk of the season earlier this year and has 57 points in 51 games.

I see that the Leafs have been alternating goalies lately. Anthony Stolarz has played the last two games and lost both. He’s 13-8 this season. Joseph Woll may be in line for the start. He’s 22-12 for Toronto.

Calgary will be without Mikael Backlund (upper body injury) and Connor Zary (suspension). Wolf gave up five goals when the two teams met in February. That’s the most goals he’s allowed in a game in all of 2025.
