Team USA’s Auston Matthews leads all players with +180 odds to score, followed by Nathan MacKinnon and Connor McDavid (both +200).

When it comes to shots on goal, Matthews and MacKinnon share the highest total at 3.5, with MacKinnon’s over offering better value at +100 compared to Matthews at +120.

Meanwhile, in terms of points, Connor McDavid is the heaviest favorite to get on the scoresheet at -230.

Prop Pick #1: Nathan MacKinnon Over 3.5 Shots on Goal

It isn’t often that Nathan MacKinnon is available at plus money to record 4+ shots on goal in a hockey game. But that’s exactly the case at 4 Nations Face-Off, where Bet365 has priced the sniper at +100 to fire 3.5+ shots on goal against Team USA on Saturday night.

MacKinnon is consistently one of the NHL’s most prolific shooters, firing 227 shots on goal through 57 NHL games in 2024-25. That equates to an average of approximately 4 shots per contest. However, at this best-on-best tournament, MacKinnon is playing with the most elite linemates he’s ever had.

Nate’s linemates at even strength are Sidney Crosby and Mitch Marner. When it comes to the power play, MacKinnon remains on the ice with Crosby, but is also joined by Connor McDavid and Cale Makar. All this to say, MacKinnon has the NHL’s best playmakers dishing him the puck.

MacKinnon fired six shots on goal in Canada’s 4 Nations opener vs Sweden, lighting the lamp off a sick spin-o-rama pass from Crosby. Yes, some of those shots came in overtime, but in an international rivalry game like this one, I’m not betting on MacKinnon to slow down his shot volume.

  • Canada vs USA Prop: Nathan MacKinnon Over 3.5 SOG (+100 at Bet365)

Prop Pick #2: Zach Werenski Over 0.5 Assists

Another player I believe is mispriced in the NHL player props is Team USA defenseman Zach Werenski. The underrated 27-year-old rearguard has taken a large role on Team USA’s blueline with Norris odds contender Quinn Hughes unable to play due to injury.

Werenski led all Americans in ice time in Team USA’s opener against Finland (21:45) while dishing out three assists. Bet365 is offering the rising star at +160 odds to pick up a single assist Saturday night, which screams value given his workload.

Playing with Columbus this season, Werenski currently has 42 assists in 55 games, with 14 of those coming via the power play. Now, he’s quarterbacking a man-advantage unit that features superstars like Auston Matthews and Matthew Tkachuk.

I’m betting Werenski Over 0.5 assists, and it’s a great same-game parlay option if you think the Americans will win. Canada gave up 26 shots and three goals in their opening game, and Jordan Binnington’s sub-.900 save percentage this regular season doesn’t inspire much confidence for their goaltending.

  • Canada vs USA Prop: Zach Werenski Over 0.5 Assists (+160 at Bet365)

Bonus Prop: Connor McDavid 1+ Point

We’ve updated this article to reflect news that Bet365 has released a Super Boost for Canada vs USA. Bet365 has boosted the odds for Connor McDavid to record one point from -230 to +100. Take advantage of the boost by clicking the link below.

Backing McDavid to record at least one point is a no-brainer, considering he’s averaging 1.45 points per game in the regular season. He picked up an assist in the 4 Nations opener vs Sweden, playing on the loaded top power-play unit. I think we will see a more dominant showing tonight as he continues to find his footing at this event.

McDavid’s implied probability of recording at least one point has shifted dramatically to create value. At -230 odds, the implied probability was approximately 69.7%. With the new +100 odds, the implied probability has dropped to 50%.

Bet365 is now offering McDavid’s chances of scoring a point as essentially a coin flip, rather than the previous heavily favored outcome. We will take advantage of that any day.
