Bruins vs Golden Knights Recent History
Sunday night’s matchup marks the second and final regular-season meeting between these clubs. The Golden Knights claimed a 4-3 decision when they visited Boston this past Monday night, and have now claimed victory in two of three dates with the Bruins, but have lost three straight head-to-head clashes on home ice.
The total has reached 7.0 in each of their past two matchups, powering a 2-0 run for the OVER that follows a 6-1 run for the UNDER.
Boston Bruins Betting Outlook
After storming out the gate to a league-best 20-3-0 start, the Bruins have suddenly fallen on hard times, with losses in two of their past three outings. The club surrendered four goals in each of this week’s defeats after limiting opponents to three or fewer goals in 13 straight contests.
Goaltender Jeremy Swayman emerged as the goat in each of the team’s defeats, allowing seven total goals on just 40 shots over those two contests. That extends a worrisome stretch for Swayman this season on the road, where he has been lit up for 14 total goals over eight periods of action in three starts.

The team has also suffered from a lack of production from the top line of Brad Marchand, David Pastrnak, and Patrice Bergeron. The trio has been limited to just two total points over the past two games. While Pastrnak has found the back of the net in four straight road dates, Bergeron has been held off the scoresheet in three straight road dates, and Marchand has tallied just one total assist over that stretch.
Golden Knights Betting Outlook
The Golden Knights’ recent scoring slump on home ice has continued during the team’s current home stand. Vegas shooters needed overtime to eke out a 2-1 win over Philadelphia on Friday night, and have now been outscored by an 11-6 margin during a feeble 1-3-0 run at T-Mobile Arena. Overall, this team has struggled to maintain consistency since storming to the top of the Pacific Division during a 13-2-0 start, scoring two or fewer goals on six occasions on their subsequent 7-6-1 run.

Veterans Mark Stone and Phil Kessel have particularly struggled, and have failed to produce a point over the team’s past five outings. Overall, Kessel has bulged the twine just twice over his past 13 outings, and has seen his ice time diminish as a result, playing fewer than 10 minutes four times over the past 10 games. Stone currently finds himself mired in an eight-game goal-scoring drought, and has produced just three goals and three assists in 14 home games this season.
Goaltender Logan Thompson has also cooled off considerably following a torrid start, allowing 3.80 goals per game over his past five outings, and five goals in each of his past two home appearances. Conversely, Adin Hill has rebounded from his November struggles, stopping 51 of 53 total shots faced while backstopping the club to two victories so far this month.
Bruins vs Golden Knights Prediction
With both these teams struggling to generate offense, this contest has all the makings of a low-scoring affair.
However, the Bruins have regularly demonstrated their ability to overcome adversity in the early going, and given the Golden Knights’ recent road woes, Boston offers value in the NHL odds to claim their fifth win in their past six as road chalk.
The Pick: Bruins (-145); UNDER 6.0 (-110)
