The Chicago Blackhawks (20-37-9) travel to Rogers Arena to take on the Vancouver Canucks (30-24-11) on Saturday, March 15, 2025. Puck drop is scheduled for 10:00 PM Eastern Time.
The Canucks are heavy -292 home favorites, with the over/under set at 5.5 goals. Can Quinn Hughes and Vancouver keep up their dominant performance against Chicago and bolster their playoff odds?
Here is our Blackhawks vs Canucks prediction and best bets for Saturday night’s Western Conference showdown.
Blackhawks vs Canucks Prediction
I’m taking the Canucks to cover the -1.5 puck line (-105) against the reeling Blackhawks. Vancouver has won nine straight meetings with Chicago, with eight of those victories coming by at least two goals.
The Canucks are led by Quinn Hughes, who tops the team with 61 points in 65 games despite battling injuries. Hughes has been a force at both ends of the ice and should exploit a Chicago defense allowing 3.47 goals per game (29th). Elias Pettersson (39 points in 49 games) and Brock Boeser (38 points) provide additional scoring punch for a Vancouver squad averaging 2.71 goals per contest.
Vancouver also boasts the league’s 6th-best penalty kill unit, operating at an 82.1% success rate. That could be a major factor against Chicago’s 7th-ranked power play (24.8%). The Canucks are coming off a crucial 4-3 shootout win over the Calgary Flames and have taken four of their last five games overall.
The Blackhawks, meanwhile, are mired in a three-game losing streak and have dropped nine of their last 10 road tilts. Chicago has struggled to generate offense consistently, scoring 2 or fewer goals in three of their past four outings.
Connor Bedard, the reigning Calder Trophy winner, leads the Hawks with 52 points but is coming off a frustrating performance against San Jose where he was held off the scoresheet and assessed a 10-minute misconduct.
Expect Arturs Silovs (1-6-1, 3.85 GAA, .859 SV%) to get the nod for Vancouver opposite Arvid Soderblom (8-15-7, 3.20 GAA, .905 SV%). While Silovs has struggled in limited action, Soderblom hasn’t fared much better. The Nucks have more to play for Saturday, and they should continue their recent domination of the Blackhawks.
Saturday NHL Pick:

Blackhawks vs Canucks Odds
Team | Spread | Moneyline | Total |
---|---|---|---|
CHI Blackhawks | +1.5 (-115) | +235 | Over 5.5 (-115) |
VAN Canucks | -1.5 (-105) | -292 | Under 5.5 (-105) |
The Canucks are sizeable home favorites in this one, with the moneyline price at -292. This means a $292 wager on Vancouver would return a profit of $100 if they secure the victory. The Blackhawks are +235 road underdogs, offering a potential $235 profit on a $100 bet.
Vancouver is listed at -1.5 (-105) on the puck line, while Chicago is +1.5 (-115). Bettors taking the Canucks puck line would need them to prevail by two or more goals, but they’d receive a better payout. The Blackhawks puck line bet would cash if they either win outright or lose by a single tally.
The total (over/under) for this contest is set at 5.5 goals, with the over juiced to -115 and the under offered at -105. This suggests oddsmakers believe there’s a slightly greater chance of the game finishing above that total than below.

Hawks vs Nucks Player Props
Player | Anytime Goalscorer | Shots on Goal (O/U) | Points (O/U) |
---|---|---|---|
Elias Pettersson (VAN) | +170 | 2.5 (+100o/-130u) | 0.5 (-135o/+105u) |
Jake DeBrusk | +210 | 1.5 (-198o/+150u) | 0.5 (-115o/-115u) |
Brock Boeser (VAN) | +195 | 1.5 (-188o/+145u) | 0.5 (-135o/+105u) |
Conor Garland | +235 | 2.5 (+126o/-162u) | 0.5 (-125o/-105u) |
Connor Bedard (CHI) | +285 | 2.5 (+115o/-148u) | 0.5 (-130o/+100u) |
Here are the top NHL player prop bets to target for Saturday’s Blackhawks vs Canucks matchup:
Connor Bedard (CHI) – Over 2.5 Shots on Goal (+115)
Despite his recent frustrations, Bedard is still averaging 2.52 shots per game and will be highly motivated to perform well in his hometown return. The Canucks are allowing 26.9 shots per contest, so the young phenom should have ample opportunities to hit the over on this prop.
Brock Boeser (VAN) – Anytime Goalscorer (+195)
Boeser has been a consistent offensive threat for Vancouver, potting 18 goals in 64 games. He lit the lamp in the first meeting and is again facing a miserable Chicago defense that’s giving up 3.47 goals per game (29th). At +195, Boeser offers solid value to find the back of the net.
