Detroit Red Wings Odds and Prediction
After enduring six straight losing seasons, the Detroit Red Wings are poised to turn the corner in 2022/2023. The Red Wings provided fans with glimpse of a hopeful future last season despite closing out their campaign with just 32 wins, 74 points and a sixth-place finish in the Atlantic Division.
GOTTA SEE IT: Red Wings defenseman Moritz Seider jumped up to grab a puck, charging to grab it over his head.
Derek Lalonde said most defensemen would have backed up. He loves Seider’s instincts to jump “14 feet in the air.”
— Brad Galli (@BradGalli) October 6, 2022
Last season marked the debut of rookie standouts Lucas Raymond and Moritz Seider, and the team cemented their core with some key veteran acquisitions this summer including rearguards Ben Chiarot and Olli Maatta, and forwards Andrew Copp, David Perron, and Dominik Kubalik.

Ville Husso takes over between the pipes after setting career highs with 25 wins, 2.56 GAA, and .919 save percentage. Husso will be counted on to turn things around defensively for the Red Wings, who ranked 30th in the NHL in goals allowed last season.
Prediction: Red Wings OVER 83.5 (-115) at Caesars Sportsbook
Los Angeles Kings Odds and Prediction
The Kings ended a stretch of three losing campaigns by racking up 99 points last season. And after making a few major changes during the offseason, the question now is whether they can build on that bounce.

Los Angeles returns to action with formidable tandem between the pipes. Veteran Jonathan Quick is coming off his best campaign in five years, and will once again share duties with Cal Petersen, who proved he can handle NHL minutes last season while winning 20 games and recording three shutouts in 37 appearances.

The addition of Kevin Fiala up front should spark a Kings’ attack that struggled to produce at times last season. A bigger contribution from Quinton Byfield following an adequate rookie campaign would also be key to the Kings returning as legitimate contenders for the top of the Pacific Division
Prediction: Kings OVER 94.5 (-115) at Caesars Sportsbook
Tampa Bay Lightning Odds and Prediction
Under head coach Jon Cooper, the Lightning have steadily evolved into a team built for the playoffs. While Tampa Bay has won two titles while reaching the Stanley Cup Finals four times over the past eight years, strong regular season performances have not translated into long playoff runs.
With McDonagh and Palat gone and Anthony Cirelli out until late November, it’s all about the long game for the Tampa Bay Lightning, says @Diandra_loux.#GoBolts pic.twitter.com/1SpKhRzJUl

That is not to suggest this team will fade during the regular season. In fact, they have a hard act to follow after compiling 110 points last season.

— Globe Sports (@Globe_Sports) October 7, 2022
However, after falling short of the ultimate goal last season, and faced with a mix of dominant and fast-rising rivals within the Atlantic Division, expect this Lightning team to use the 82-game schedule as nothing more than a dress rehearsal for the postseason. That approach alone is enough to fade them in team points totals.
Prediction: Lightning UNDER 103.5 (-112) at Barstool Sportsbook
Boston Bruins Odds and Prediction
There are few teams featuring better organizations and track records of success than the Boston Bruins. A playoff team in 13 of the past 15 seasons, the Bruins are the epitome of the perennial contender. However, several factors suggest that Boston is poised for a step back this time around.
At this point, the Bruins are expected to not have Brad Marchand, Charlie McAvoy and Matt Grzelcyk for the start of the regular season — and they might not be back for a few months.
Also, still no clarity yet on Bergeron's future.

With Charlie McAvoy and Matt Grzelcyk both on the shelf with injuries, the Bruins open the season severely shorthanded on the back end. Things aren’t much better up front, with Brad Marchand sidelined after undergoing surgery on both hips. Indeed, the loss of Marchand is a blow to a Bruins attack considering the noted super pest finished second on the team with 32 goals last season.

Considering the upgrades that several of their Atlantic Division rivals have made, topping 100 points for the fifth time in six seasons appears out of reach.
Prediction: Bruins UNDER 97.5 (-113) at FanDuel Sportsbook
