- Find the 3 best props for the game.
The New Orleans Saints and the Minnesota Vikings take the Sunday Night Football stage in Week 8.
Everyone seems to be making a big deal of this game. I’m not sure why. Did they recently combine for some sort of classic moment that will be celebrated by one franchise for years to come and haunt the other for even longer?
Well anyway, here’s some props we like.
Best Week 8 Sunday Night Football Props
Prop #1: Over Saints Total Points
New Orleans Saints total points | Odds |
---|---|
OVER 26.5 | -145 |
UNDER 26.5 | +115 |
With the Saints, the public is always going to favor the over, no matter the conditions. But tonight’s matchup is especially likable for this high flying offense.
Even with Everson Griffen reportedly returning to the lineup, the Vikes once-vaunted D will still be shorthanded.

New Orleans didn’t top 27 points in either game they played on the fast track of U.S. Bank Stadium last year, but they came awful close in the playoffs, scoring 24 second-half points in a wild shootout.
This season, the Saints have scored 27 or more points in four of their first six games. The teams that held them to 21 and 24 points? Cleveland and Baltimore, defenses that rank top three in defensive DVOA.
That’s not exactly the kind of company Minnesota’s 16th ranked D is keeping this season.

If Minnesota takes this game, it will be on the back of Kirk Cousins and this offense. Back the Saints offense to do damage here.
Pick: Saints score OVER 26.5 points (-145)
Prop #2: Alvin Kamara, Stefon Diggs scores a touchdown
Anytime Touchdown Scorer | Odds |
---|---|
Alvin Kamara | -180 |
Adam Thielen | -145 |
Latavius Murray | -130 |
Michael Thomas | -130 |
Mark Ingram | -110 |
Stefon Diggs | +110 |
Alvin Kamara was a matchup nightmare for the Vikings last year and that was with a healthy Anthony Barr.
There was minor panic across the fantasy realm when, in Mark Ingram’s first game back, Kamara was barely used. But he bounced back nicely last week, finding pay dirt.
Wanna hear a mind-blowing stat? This Alvin Kamara score is the 1st TD the Ravens defense has allowed in the 2nd half this year! 😳 #NOvsBAL https://t.co/M6EbMS0WiG

As for Stefon Diggs, he’s in a bit more of a scoring slump right now, having been held out of the endzone for four straight weeks.
But with everyone focusing on how awesome Adam Thielen is right now, Minnesota’s other receiver has a chance to shine.
Diggs had three touchdowns against the Saints last season, including one you’ve probably seen replayed a lot this week. (But I bet you haven’t seen it remade in Lego.)

The Saints secondary is under performing so much this season, they thought acquiring Eli Apple would be an actual solution. God help them. Both Thielen and Diggs should eat tonight.
Pick: Kamara to score a touchdown (-180) and Diggs to score a touchdown (+110)
Prop #3: Under Saints Total Field Goals
New Orleans Saints total successful field goals | Odds |
---|---|
OVER 1.5 | -135 |
UNDER 1.5 | +105 |
Even in a shootout, like I think this game could be, not every over hits.
Wil Lutz has kicked one or fewer field goals in half the Saints games this season. That’s the downside of playing on a team that scores TDs on 66% of its red zone trips.
Pick: Saints UNDER 1.5 total successful field goals (+105)
