The south has risen in the NFL Week 17 NFL picks against the spread. Among the early games to target are two key matches that will have much to say about the races in both the AFC and NFC South divisions.
Suddenly leading the AFC South, the 7-8 Jacksonville Jaguars are 4-point road favorites against division rivals the Houston Texans. The Jags are riding a three-game winning streak.
Meanwhile, the NFC’s hottest ATS team is the Carolina Panthers. At 6-9, if the Panthers win out the rest of the way, they win the NFC South title. They’re facing a big test in the Week 17 slate, traveling to Tampa Bay to face the 7-8 Buccaneers. In the spread, the Panthers are 3-point road underdogs.
Another key game in the NFC playoff chase sees the #7-seeded Washington Commanders looking to end a two-game losing skid against the Cleveland Browns. The Commanders are set as a 2-point home pick.

NFL ATS Pick 1: Jaguars Suddenly the Team to Beat
Sure, Jacksonville’s recent history against Houston isn’t great (1-5 ATS in the past six games). However, the recent history of the Jaguars is very good. They’re 4-1 ATS over the past five games.

Along with a 5-1 ATS mark in their past five games, the Panthers are also 5-0 ATS in the last five against NFC opponents and 4-1 ATS in the last five vs NFC South opposition.
