Super Bowl LVII kicks off on February 12th, and there are a slew of ways to wager on the big contest. Philadelphia is favored in the Super Bowl odds by 1.5 points over Kansas City. With plenty of options at your disposal, it’s good to dive into smart Super Bowl bets that won’t require a huge investment.

To help out, we’ve selected a few couple of simple bets to make on the Super Bowl that provide solid value.

Under our Super Bowl picks, you’ll find examples of how much you can win betting on the Super Bowl.

Smart Super Bowl Bets

Pick Odds Sportsbook
Patrick Mahomes 250+ Alternate Passing Yards -295 Fanduel
Travis Kelce Anytime Touchdown Scorer -130 DraftKings

Pick: Patrick Mahomes 250+ Alternate Passing Yards

Patrick Mahomes stepping up in the postseason is typically one of the safe Super Bowl bets you can make. In his playoff career, he’s won ten of 13 contests. After gutting out an AFC Championship win with a bum ankle, Mahomes has two full weeks to rest and recover.

In all but one of his thirteen playoff affairs, Mahomes has thrown for over 250 yards (the lone exception being this year’s AFC divisional round when he originally injured his ankle and had to leave for a brief portion of the game).

At Fanduel Sportsbook, there is a section in the NFL category titled “Player Props”. It’s just one of the types of Super Bowl bets you can make.

In his two previous Super Bowls, Mahomes threw for 286 and 270 yards. At Draftkings Sportsbook, this same wager is -400, which means it’s an implied probability of it happening 80% of the time. However, at Fanduel, there’s a bit more value to be gained at -290.

Pick: Patrick Mahomes 250+ Alternate Passing Yards -290 (Fanduel)

Pick: Travis Kelce Anytime Touchdown Scorer

There are various US betting sites that you can use to place your Super Bowl bets. After finding a bit more value on the Mahomes prop on Fanduel, let’s see if we can get a great one on DraftKings.

Travis Kelce is an absolute behemoth of a tight end, and he comes up clutch when it matters most – in the postseason. In ten of his last twelve playoff games, Kelce has found paydirt, including three TD’s in two postseason battles this year. In that span, the star TE has racked up a whopping 14 touchdowns.

His -130 odds at DraftKings imply that he’ll find the end zone 56% of the time – however, based on his sterling track record, we know that not to be the case, as he’s recorded a TD in 83% of the last twelve playoff duels.

Oddsmakers are clearly expecting a big game from Kelce, as they’ve instilled him as a top-three favorite in the Super Bowl MVP odds.

Pick: Travis Kelce Anytime Touchdown Scorer -130 (DraftKings)

How Much Can You Win Betting on the Super Bowl?

The amount of money you can win is dependent on how much cash you’re willing to plunk down. Obviously the more you’re willing to put up, the higher the potential payout will be.

Based on the odds, you’re able to bet a small amount for a big payout, or you’ll need to wager more money to make a modest gain. For smart Super Bowl bets, you’ll want to hone in on odds with a “–” sign in front of them. That indicates the player/team is a favorite.

You can win more money by betting on underdogs, which are marked with a “+” symbol in front of the odds. But those are riskier bets that aren’t as likely to hit.

You can use our odds converter to calculate what the payout would be on a bet depending on how much you want to wager.  Negative odds (–) tell you what you have to bet on the favorite to win $100.

Let’s use the Travis Kelce anytime touchdown scorer as an example. A successful $10 wager at -130 odds would net a profit of $7.70, whereas a $100 wager at -130 odds would generate a profit of $77, plus the original stake.
