Shedeur Sanders was supposed to be the crown jewel of the 2025 NFL Draft. The Colorado quarterback lit up the Big 12 last season, throwing for over 4,000 yards and 37 touchdowns while leading the Buffaloes to a 9-4 record.
But after a dramatic draft night slide, Sanders finds himself still on the board entering Day 2. The son of Deion Sanders, once projected as high as No. 3 overall to the QB-needy Giants, didn’t hear his name called in the first 32 picks.
Shedeur Sanders’ Day 2 Draft Pick Odds
Now, all eyes turn to the top of Round 2, where a pair of AFC teams have emerged as the odds-on favorites to end Sanders’ shocking tumble. Here are the latest odds on which team will draft the polarizing passer, per DraftKings Sportsbook:
The Browns and Raiders are currently listed as co-favorites at -110 odds (bet $110 to win $100) to land Sanders in the updated NFL Draft odds. But there are plenty of other potential suitors to watch, including the Saints (+600), Steelers (+1200), and Jets (+1200).

Browns Hold Prime Draft Real Estate
The Browns are literally in the driver’s seat when it comes to Sanders’ future. Cleveland owns the No. 33 overall pick, the first selection of the second round.
GM Andrew Berry passed up multiple opportunities to draft a quarterback in Round 1, instead opting to trade back from No. 2 overall and select Michigan DT Mason Graham at No. 5. But with aging veterans Joe Flacco and Kenny Pickett currently atop the depth chart (and Deshaun Watson’s health in question), the Browns could pounce on Sanders with the opening pick of Day 2.
Head coach Kevin Stefanski got an up-close look at Sanders during Colorado’s pro day and came away impressed, telling reporters he thinks the strong-armed QB would be a “great fit” in the Browns’ offense. If Cleveland is sold on Sanders as their franchise quarterback, they won’t hesitate to turn in the card at No. 33.
Raiders a Logical Sanders Suitor
If the Browns pass on Sanders at No. 33, don’t expect him to make it past the next few picks. The Raiders, slotted at No. 37 overall, are the other heavy betting favorite to scoop him up.
Las Vegas made a splash in Round 1 by selecting Boise State RB Ashton Jeanty, giving new head coach Pete Carroll a dynamic offensive weapon. Now imagine pairing Jeanty with Sanders, who lit up the Raiders’ facility during a pre-draft visit.
The Raiders desperately need a young quarterback to develop behind 35-year-old Geno Smith. While they’ve also been linked to Alabama’s Jalen Milroe, the potential star power of a Sanders-Jeanty backfield might be too enticing for the Silver and Black to pass up.
Nick Saban Weighs In
Perhaps the most interesting perspective on Sanders’ slide came from Alabama head coach Nick Saban. During his draft analysis segment on ESPN, Saban emphasized that draft position isn’t everything.
“It’s not about where you get picked, it’s about when you get picked, do you take the opportunity that you were given to make the best of the opportunity that you have,” Saban said. “I think Shedeur Sanders is going to do that.”
Saban’s vote of confidence is a reminder that Sanders’ story is far from over. All it takes is one team to believe in his talent and makeup. By this time tomorrow, Sanders will almost certainly have an NFL home.
The only question is, which team will be the one to end his draft day fall? The Browns and Raiders are the betting favorites, but in the wildly unpredictable world of the NFL Draft, anything is possible. Tune in to Day 2 to find out how the Shedeur Saga finally concludes.
