The Cincinnati Bengals will be seeking their first-ever NFL championship when they play the Los Angeles Rams in Super Bowl 56 at 6:30 p.m. Sunday at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, Calif, which will be televised by NBC.
Super Bowl odds have the Rams as -198 favorites on the moneyline, giving them an implied win probability of 66.44%.
Rams vs Bengals Odds
Team | Moneyline | Spread | Total |
---|---|---|---|
Los Angeles Rams | -198 | -4 (-112) | Over 48.5 (-110) |
Cincinnati Bengals | +166 | +4 (-108) | Under 48.5 (-110) |
Odds as of February 12th at FanDuel Sportsbook
A $100 bet on the Rams would win $150.51 for a return of $50.51. A $100 bet on the Bengals with +166 odds – an implied 37.59% win probability — would pay $266 for a return of $166.
In terms of the point spread, the Rams are favored by four points while playing on their home field (though, in a quirk, Los Angeles will be the visiting team). Wearing their white jerseys could make the Rams attractive to bettors who like fun Super Bowl trends.
Super Bowl point spread history shows this is the first time in 16 years the big game has had a spread of four points, the over/under is set at 48.5 points. The Rams opened as 3.5-point favorites with 50 as the total.
Rams vs Bengals History and Past Results
The teams will be meeting for the 15th time and Cincinnati holds an 8-6 series edge in Rams vs Bengals head-to-held results. The last game came on foreign soil in London in 2019 with the Rams winning 24-10 in London.
Rams wide receiver Cooper Kupp caught seven pass for 220 yards and one touchdown. Jared Goff threw for 372 yards on 17-of-31 passing with two TDs and no interceptions.
The last time the Rams & Bengals squared off was from London in 2019 and Cooper Kupp had a career high 220 receiving yards. Kupp is having a legendary season + post season. All together he’s amassed 150 receptions, 2333 receiving yards, and 20 TDs. 1 more to go #SBLVI pic.twitter.com/SW7wBRr6p0

Running back Joe Mixon was the Bengals’ top rusher with 66 yards on 17 carries Andy Dalton started at quarterback and completed 32 of 52 attempts for 329 yards with one score and no picks.
The Rams went 9-7 that year and missed the playoffs for the only time in Sean McVay’s five seasons as coach. The Bengals finished 2-14 in Zac Taylor’s first season as coach for the worst record in the NFL then used the first overall pick in the 2020 draft to select quarterback Joe Burrow.
Rams Super Bowl History
The Rams will be making their fifth Super Bowl appearances and third while the franchise has been based in Los Angeles.
The Rams’ lone victory came following the 1999 season when they held off the Tennessee Titans 23-16. The losses came in 1979 to the Pittsburgh Steelers and to the New England Patriots in 2001 and 2018.
Those ’99 Rams, like this season’s Bengals, were coming off a four-win season.
The Bengals are the fourth team in NFL history to go from winning four or fewer games in one season to appearing in the Super Bowl in the next, joining the 1988 Bengals, 1999 Rams, and 2019 49ers. Will they join the Rams as the only team to go on to win the Super Bowl? pic.twitter.com/elJbqC83rI

Only one player who touched the ball in the most recent Super Bowl trip remains with the Rams and that is wide receiver Robert Woods (knee), who is on injured reserve. The other two offensive starters still with Los Angeles are tight end Tyler Higbee (out with a knee injury) and tackle Rob Havenstein.
All-Pro tackle Aaron Donald is the lone defensive starter remaining.
Bengals Super Bowl History
The Bengals have been to the Super Bowl twice and both appearances came back in the 1980s. They lost to the San Francisco 49ers and Joe Montana in both 1981 and 1988.
Rams vs Bengals Team Stats
Rams vs Bengals stats show both teams’ strengths are their offenses, led by quarterbacks Matthew Stafford of the Rams and Burrow of the Bengals.
The Rams and Bengals both averaged 27.1 points a game during the regular season, tying for seventh in the NFL. The Rams were ninth in total offense with 372.1 yards a game and the Bengals were 13th with an average of 361.5.
The defenses are middle of the pack with the Rams ranking 15th in both total yards and points allowed and the Bengals standing 17th in scoring and 18th in total yardage.
372.1 (9th) | Total Offense | 361.5 (13th) |
99.0 (25th) | Rushing Offense | 102.5 (23rd) |
273.1 (5th) | Passing Offense | 259.0 (7th) |
27.1 (7th) | Scoring Offense | 27.1 (7th) |
344.9 (15th) | Total Defense | 350.8 (18th) |
103.2 (6th) | Rushing Defense | 102.5 (5th) |
241.7 (22nd) | Passing Defense | 248.4 (26th) |
21.9 (15th) | Scoring Defense | 22.1 (17th) |
Both teams are strong at stopping the run, though. The Rams were fifth at 102.5 a game and the Bengals right behind them in sixth at 103.2.
Each side is relatively healthy as the Rams activated running back Darrell Henderson (knee) and defensive lineman Sebastian Joseph-Day (pectoral) from injured reserve Friday and placed Higbee and offensive tackle Joseph Notebook (chest) on IR.

Bengals tight end C.J. Uzomah was knocked out of the AFC Championship with a knee injury two weeks ago but is expected to play.
Rams vs Bengals Team Trends
The Bengals (13-7) are on a three-game winning streak and have won six of their last seven games, including upsetting the Kansas City Chiefs 27-24 in overtime on the road in the AFC Championship Game. Cincinnati won its first AFC North title since 2015.
The Rams (15-5) rallied to beat the visiting San Francisco 49ers 20-17 in the NFC Championship Game for their third straight victory and eighth in their last nine games. Los Angeles captured the NFC West for the third time in McVay’s five-year tenure.
The Bengals are 13-7 ATS, the second-most profitable team in the NFL behind the Dallas Cowboys in NFL team trends. The Rams are just 10-10.
Offensive Connections Drive Both Teams
McVay and Taylor are close friends and will become the first pair of coaches under 40 to square off in a Super Bowl. Taylor was an assistant coach on McVay’s staff with the Rams for two years before taking over in Cincinnati.
That’s quite a change from last year’s big game.

Stafford and Burrow were both No. 1 overall draft choices. The only other time two quarterback taken first overall met in Super Bowl history was 2015 when the Denver Broncos’ Peyton Manning beat the Carolina Panthers’ Cam Newton.
Stafford has finally made it to the Super Bowl in his 13th season. He spent his first 12 years with the Detroit Lions before being traded for Goff and draft picks last offseason.
If Stafford throws for 209 yards, he will become just the sixth quarterback to throw for 6,000 yards in a season in league history. His 49,995 career passing yards and 323 touchdown passes are the most for a QB making his first Super Bowl start.
We'd be here all day if we showed every highlight from QB1.

Stafford has an almost telepathic relationship with Kupp, who led the NFL in receptions, receiving yards and touchdown catches during the regular season. Counting the playoffs, Kupp’s 2,333 receiving yards are a league single-season record.
The Bengals have their own dangerous pass-catch duo in Burrow and rookie wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase.
In his last seven games, Burrow has 15 touchdowns passes and two interceptions while averaging 331.1 yards a game. Chase’s 1,455 regular-season receiving yards were the most by a rookie in the Super Bowl era and his combined seven catches of 50-plus yards in the regular season and playoffs are the most by an NFL player in the last 30 years.
Never been a rookie season quite like Ja’Marr Chase’s 🔥#NFLHonors @Real10Jayy__ @Bengals pic.twitter.com/zdi7QMmaTP

The Bengals have an additional weapon in rookie kicker Evan McPherson, who has made all 12 field goal attempts in the playoffs, kicking four in each of the three games.
The Rams have more star power on defense than the Bengals, with All-Pros in Donald and cornerback Jalen Ramsey.
Donald will be counted to bring the heat on Burrow, who was sacked an NFL-most 63 times in the regular season, and clog running lanes.

Ramsey will most likely cover Chase after having four interceptions and 16 pass breakups in the regular season.
Rams vs Bengals Picks
This shapes up as potentially a very entertaining game with two quarterbacks capable of piling up big yardage totals. Kupp and Chase could both have huge performances.
The NFL public betting trends have been leaning towards the Bengals and they are enticing getting four points in what should be a close game. Taking the points is the best bet here and over 48.5 is also worth at least a small play.
- The Picks: Bengals +4 (-108), Over 48.5 (-110)
Rams vs Bengals Prediction
It has been a postseason full of thrills. All four divisional-round playoff games were decided on the final play and the Bengals and Rams both overcame double-digit deficits to win their conference championship games by three points.
Look for the Super Bowl to come down to the wire, too, with the Rams winning on Matt Gay’s field goal at the final gun and going against the historic ATS Super Bowl trends that say the winner almost always covers the spread.
