Big Ben no longer toils for the Pittsburgh Steelers (1-1, 1-0-1 ATS) and that’s big news for the Cleveland Browns (1-1, 1-1 ATS).
Ben Roethlisberger was 26-2-1 straight up against the Browns as Steelers quarterback. He was 14-2-1 at Cleveland.
With Ben retired and Cleveland’s Deshaun Watson suspended, the QB matchup for this Week 3 TNF game is Pittsburgh’s Mitch Trubisky against Jacoby Brissett for the Browns.

Just the fact that it isn’t Roethlisberger seems to be appealing to oddsmakers. Cleveland is set as 4.5-point home favorites in the Steelers vs Browns odds.
The Browns are 1-5 against the spread in the last six games against the Steelers.

Steelers vs Browns NFL Betting Trends
In NFL public betting trends, people are backing the Steelers heavily in both spread and moneyline wagering. In spread wagering, the public is placing 73% of the handle and 70% of bets on Pittsburgh. As far as the moneyline goes, there’s 66% of handle and 65% of bets supporting the Steelers. The public is of two minds on the total, however. The under is drawing 63% of handle and the over is getting 54% of the bets.

Five of Pittsburgh’s last seven road games have gone over in NFL team trends heading into Week 3. The under has also been the correct play in five of Cleveland’s last seven games and six of the last seven times the Browns played on a Thursday.
The Browns (+5000) and Steelers (+8000) are both at long lines in the Super Bowl odds. Cleveland is the +380 third betting choice to win the AFC North. Pittsburgh is at a betting line of +700 in the NFL divisional odds.
Will Cleveland Or Pittsburgh Figure It Out First?
Cleveland’s offense is rating #7 in the NFL in total offense. The Browns are averaging 380 yards per game. The Steelers sit 20th overall, averaging 255 yards per game. Already there are calls for 2022 first-round pick Kenny Pickett to replace Trubisky under center, which could make Trubisky a risk play in your Steelers vs Browns player props. There’s also unhappiness with the play calling of Pittsburgh offensive coordinator Matt Canada.
The world being forced to watch Mitch Trubisky and Jacoby Brissett in prime time on Thursday night is cruel and unusual punishment.

For the Browns, the problem is on the other side of the ball. Cleveland has surrendered 55 points through two games. The Browns blew a 30-17 lead in the final two minutes of Sunday’s 31-30 loss to the New York Jets.
Cleveland is the NFL’s #26 scoring defense. The Browns are allowing 27.5 yards per game. Pittsburgh’s rates as the #12 scoring defense, allowing 18.5 PPG.
Top Defensive Players Missing on Both Teams
At the start of the season, TJ Watt of the Steelers and Cleveland’s Myles Garrett were among the top contenders in the NFL DPOY odds. Yet there’s a realistic chance that neither will be on the field this Thursday.
Linebacker Watt is definitely out. He’s on IR with a shoulder injury. Edge Garrett, meanwhile, is listed as questionable due to a neck injury. However, he’s trending toward playing.
#Browns Myles Garrett (neck), OL Joel Bitonio (biceps) and RT Jack Conklin (knee) are expected to play.

Cleveland may be missing both starting defensive ends. Jadeveon Clowney is out with an ankle injury. Cornerback Greedy Williams is on IR with a hamstring ailment.
Also for the Browns, right tackle Jack Conklin (knee) and left guard Joe Bitonio (bicep) are questionable. Conklin’s backup Chris Hubbard (illness) is also questionable.
Steelers vs Browns Prediction
Pittsburgh has covered in each of the club’s past four games against AFC North opposition. Also working in favor of the Steelers is the fact that the underdog has covered in four straight Pittsburgh vs Cleveland games. As well, Trubisky is 4-0 SU against the AFC North.
Mitchell Trubisky is looking to add another W on Thursday 👀

The Browns gave up 24 points to Carolina and 31 to the Jets. No one is mistaking either of those offenses as being something dangerous.
- Pick: Pittsburgh Steelers +4.5 (-110), 1 unit
- TNF record (0-0 ML, 0-2 ATS, 0-0 O/U) -2.00 units
