Traditionally, Jerry Jeudy fits into the narrative of what the Raiders are all about.
Whether it was Cliff Branch, Tim Brown, or Willie Gault, the Raiders are known to like dangerous wideouts. They even threw olive branches to legends like Jerry Rice and Randy Moss during the latter stages of their Hall-of-Fame careers.
Last season, they thought Antonio Brown could be the next in this long line but that affair ended badly.
Playmaking wide receivers highlighted Raiders success stories in Oakland and Los Angeles. As they begin a new era this season in Las Vegas, could Alabama’s Jeudy be a fit as the next great Raiders wide receiver?
The Raiders are +200 favorites to select Jeudy in the first round of the NFL Draft.

Team | Odds |
---|---|
Las Vegas Raiders | +200 |

Carolina Panthers | +3000 |
Detroit Lions | +3000 |
Odds taken March 20th.
The Raiders will make their selection at #12 overall. That’s right around where most NFL mock drafts are projecting Jeudy to be picked.
Raiders in Need of Wide Receiver
When the Antonio Brown fiasco played out and he was released without seeing any game action, it left the Raiders severely lacking at wideout. Tyrell Williams finished as their top wide receiver during the 2019 NFL season.
Williams was 60th in receiving yardage (651 yards). He was tied for 92nd in receptions (42) and finished 24th overall in touchdown catches (six).
If Raiders and 49ers at Nos. 12 and 13 are both thinking wide receivers, Raiders would probably get their pick of Jerry Jeudy, CeeDee Lamb or Henry Ruggs III . . .

In today’s pass-happy NFL offenses, those numbers simply won’t do. Selecting fellow former Crimson Tide player Josh Jacobs, the Raiders found their running back of the future during the first round of last year’s draft.
Adding Jeudy could solve their problem at wide receiver.
49ers Could Make a Play for Jeudy
By trading defensive lineman DeForest Buckner to the Indianapolis Colts earlier this week, the San Francisco 49ers gained Indy’s first-round pick in this year’s draft.
With pick No. 13, you can now throw the #49ers hat in the ring for the top receivers in the draft, including Ceedee Lamb, Henry Ruggs and Jerry Jeudy. The draft just got a lot more interesting.

That pick is #13 overall. Word is that San Fran is also in the market for a wide receiver. The Raiders also pick at #19 but they must know if they wait to take a receiver, it’s likely that all of the top three-rated WRs – CeeDee Lamb, Jeudy and Henry Ruggs III – will be off the board.
Possible Value Plays
Value bets on Jeudy are evaporating by the day.
The Cardinals (8th overall) were probably in the market for a wide receiver. But Arizona filled that need by trading for DeAndre Hopkins from Houston. Likewise, the Buffalo Bills dealt their first-round pick to Minnesota for Stefon Diggs.

Oddly enough, Jeudy’s precise route running and ability to gain separation from defensive backs often causes parallels to Diggs. But with the #22 and #25 selections, the Vikings haven’t a hope of landing him unless they trade up.
The New York Jets (+260) pick 11th and are definitely in the market for a big-play receiver. But word is they prefer Lamb. Lamb is the -115 chalk to be the first WR off the board, just ahead of Jeudy (+125).
All signs point to Jeudy becoming a Raider on draft day.
Pick: Las Vegas Raiders (+200)
