Odds Say Greedy Williams is First DB Selected in 2019 NFL Draft

Greedy Williams has one of the best names in the upcoming NFL Draft. But you’ll know him for more than a unique moniker in the very near future.
The LSU All-American is heavy favorite to be the first defensive back selected in the 2019 NFL Draft (Apr. 25th).

Williams is listed as the favorite by Bookmaker to be the first defensive back off the board in the upcoming draft and for good reason. Here’s the case why he’s absolutely one of the best value picks of the draft when it comes to position prop bets.

Williams Has Elite Shutdown Skills
Last season, college QBs made the mistake of throwing in Williams’ direction 74 times. He intercepted six of those passes and allowed only 27 completions.
For those not great at math, that means he intercepted 8% of balls thrown in his direction while QB’s only completed 36% of passes.
Obviously, those stats will be tough to replicate at the NFL level, but anything close would make him a Pro Bowl-quality defensive back as a rookie.

Often times, players from the college level require teaching to remove bad habits and build good tendencies, but Williams isn’t one of those players. He will arrive on day one with the skills to cover WR1s.
Williams Doesn’t Lack Confidence
Part of being a shut-down corner is believing you are a shut-down corner. Williams has said in the lead up to the draft that he is the best cornerback available.
Now, most players would say the same to display the confidence they think GM’s want to see, but Williams definitely believes it. After having an exceptional college career in the tough SEC, it makes sense the LSU product believes he truly deserves to be the first corner off the board. The fact that you can bet on him at plus money represents great value.
You should be as confident that he’ll be picked first as he is that he deserves to be.

Sometimes projections are wrong and a lesser-known candidate jumps up the board. The defensive back position isn’t the place to look for that to happen.
Greedy Williams deserves to be taken earlier than the rest and he will be, likely in the top 10.
