- The Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Buffalo Bills are +250 co-favorites to post the best regular-season record during the 2022 NFL regular season
- At the opposite end, it’s the Houston Texans who are the +250 chalk to post the league’s worst record this season
- All of the odds, picks, predictions, and best bets for the NFL’s best and worst regular-season records are assessed in the following story
The beauty of the NFL offseason, as opposed to the regular season, is that hope springs eternal. Every coaching change looks to be brilliant. All of the moves made since the season ended seem magical. NFL betting is suggesting that every team has a chance.
In reality, no they don’t. If you’re mentioning the Houston Texans and Super Bowl in the same sentence without inserting the words “don’t have a chance to play in the” in-between the two, then seek immediate help.
That being said, some teams will climb from the depths of last season. Others will begin a slide in the opposite direction. For a few teams, these movements in NFL win totals will be dramatic.
Which teams will be the best of the best in the 2022 NFL regular season? Who are the clubs that will be bottom feeders, in the hunt for the first overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft?
Let’s take a look at that while assessing the best NFL futures bets for these props.

Will the Bills Pay Off?
What’s not to like about the Buffalo Bills? They’ve been right there on the cusp of getting to the Super Bowl each of the past two seasons. Last year, the Bills went 11-6, one win off the best record in the AFC. At favorite’s odds of +250, Buffalo offers an implied probability of winning of 28.57%.
Buffalo quarterback Josh Allen is getting better with each passing season. He still has Stefon Diggs to get on the other end of his passes. In NFL betting strategies, it’s difficult to envision any of the New England Patriots, Miami Dolphins or New York Jets giving Buffalo a run for the AFC East crown.

Green Bay was an NFL-best 13-4 last season, but the Packers figure to regress at least a bit. Davante Adams is gone and Aaron Rodgers is another year older. Likewise, is it wise to invest in 44-year-old Tom Brady of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to continue to be drinking from the fountain of youth?
If there’s a sleeper to play for NFL regular season win leader, it just might be the Dallas Cowboys. Other than Philadelphia, the NFC East figures to be bad. Dallas was 12-5 last year and the Cowboys are a solid club on both sides of the ball.
Pick: Dallas Cowboys (+1000)

Who’s the Baddest of Them All?
New York has cornered the market on bad football over the past five NFL regular seasons. The Giants and Jets share an NFL-worst 22-59 mark over that span.
They’ll be among the usual suspects battling to not be the NFL’s worst team in 2022. Certainly, a case can be made for the Texans and the Jacksonville Jaguars as well. And it wouldn’t be at all surprising to see the Atlanta Falcons go into free fall.
The Chicago Bears UNDER 6.5 wins is the most lopsided season win total bet at @CaesarsSports so far this offseason.
Over 95% of the bets are on the UNDER and nearly 18x the $$ is on the under

There’s a contender for this dishonor that hasn’t resided in the NFL’s low-rent district in quite some time. the Pittsburgh Steelers were most recently the league’s worst team in 1969. Steelers coach Mike Tomlin has never endured a losing season. However, with uncertainty at quarterback and the NFL’s #29 run game last season, it’s going to be a rough year in the Steel City.
It’s another venerable NFL franchise that’s getting the nod here, though. The Chicago Bears are putting their QB eggs into the basket of sophomore Justin Fields, who had the worst QBR among the league’s starters as a rookie. He’ll be working with a new batch of receivers and a new coach (Matt Eberflus). Sounds like a recipe for disaster.
Pick: Chicago Bears (+1200)
