Jets Aim to Right the Ship

A disappointing loss to the lowly Denver Broncos in Week 4 dropped New York to 2-2. The Jets offense was supposed to be much improved this season. With QB Aaron Rodgers returning from an Achilles injury, slippery running back Breece Hall behind him, and the skills of Garrett Wilson outside, many believed the Jets would run roughshod over their opponents this season.

Unfortunately for Fireman Ed, Robert Saleh’s squad needs to put in a lot of work to reach contending status this season.

The Jets offense looked discombobulated at times last week, surrendering five sacks and 14 quarterback hits to the Broncos.

Outside of the Patriots game, Aaron Rodgers has had little time to throw and the Jets’ self-inflicted errors have doomed them in their losses. The sight of 13 penalty flags last week has got to give the coaching staff nightmares. Five false starts doomed multiple promising drives, and now the shaky offensive line takes on the top-ranked Vikings defense in a loud, foreign stadium.

New York’s offensive line will have to shape up quickly to have any hope of holding up against Minnesota’s creative pressure packages. It could be another long day at the office for Mr. Rodgers.

It’s important to note, the Jets are just 2-7 SU in their last nine games as an underdog.

Darnold Has Vikings Looking Like Contenders

Don’t look now, but Sam Darnold may just be the quarterback Vikings fans have been searching for. The much-maligned former first-round pick will have an opportunity to defeat the team who drafted him third overall in 2018 in this NFL London contest.

Darnold has tossed an NFL-leading 11 touchdowns with just three interceptions through four games. He also sits third among quarterbacks in expected points added per play, and eighth in air yards per throw. He looks like a man reborn and will be searching for revenge against his former squad.

However, its been the Vikings defense which has propelled them into contention in the NFC. Brian Flores has created a monster of a unit. Bringing pressures from all over the place, and disguising coverages and blitz looks with guile. Minnesota have amassed an NFL-leading 17 sacks and 22 quarterback hits while combining for 56 hurries already.

Jets vs Vikings Prediction

One thing is certain, Jets vs Vikings promises to be a treat for football fans who love to watch some morning gridiron action. With two top-tier defensive units on the field, and stars adjusting to playing this contest overseas at an irregular hour, under 40.5 points is the play.

  • Jets vs Vikings Pick: Under 40.5 Points (-115)
