- The New York Giants visit Atlanta on Monday Night Football for Week 7
- Will Julio Jones finally catch a TD this season?
- Could rookie Saquon Barkley be in for a big day vs a struggling Falcons’ D?
Week 7’s Monday Night Football matchup features the 1-5 NY Giants traveling to Mercedes-Benz Stadium to face the 2-4 Atlanta Falcons. We dig into the prop cards to find the three best bets for MNF.
Best Week 7 Monday Night Football Props
Prop #1: Julio Jones to Have at Least 1 Receiving TD
Julio Jones Prop | Odds |
---|---|
At Least 1 Receiving TD | -125 |
At Least 2 Receiving TDs | +400 |
At Least 3 Receiving TDS | +1600 |
*All odds taken on 10/21/18.
If ever there was a player due for a touchdown, it’s Julio Jones. At 708 receiving yards, he by far leads the team in yardage. His 44 receptions are double the next closest Falcons’ receiver in Calvin Ridley. It’s not like Matt Ryan isn’t looking for Julio either as leads the team in 69 targets. Ridley is also second in that category with only 29.
Julio Jones has 44 catches, 708 yards…and zero touchdowns. When will he finally find the end zone? https://t.co/0XgGiRabR5

Yet despite averaging 118 YPG, Jones has yet to find the end zone this season. In fact, take out his one playoff TD against the Rams last year, and Jones hasn’t scored a regular season TD since October 22nd. He had only three throughout the 2017 regular season.
.@AtlantaFalcons WR @juliojones_11 had 10 catches for 143 yards in Week 6.
Jones has 14 career games with 10+ catches & 100+ receiving yards, tied with @ProFootballHOF Marvin Harrison (14) for the sixth-most such games in @NFL history. pic.twitter.com/Jk6aJ6gXBk

But in 2018 he’s second in both total yards for receivers and YPG and tied in seventh in receptions. I’m calling for him to finally find the endzone on MNF.
Pick: Julio Jones To Have At Least 1 Receiving TD
Prop #2: Saquon Barkley Will Have at Least 1 Rushing TD
Saquon Barkley Prop | Odds |
---|---|
At Least 1 Rushing TD | -154 |
At Least 2 Rushing TDs | +400 |
At Least 3 Rushing TDs | +1400 |
If you’re betting MNF this week you simply must find a way to work Giants’ rookie RB Saquon Barkley into a wager.
The first-year player has been one of the few bright spots on the Giants. Barkley is eighth in league rushing with 438 yards along with four TDs. Barkley is also a threat in the passing game as he’s added 373 receiving yards and two more TDs. He currently leads New York’s offense in combined yardage among running backs and receivers, a full 296 yards more than OBJ.
We're about to play a running back with the versatility of Alvin Kamara and Christian McCaffrey but the size and strength of James Conner.
Oh, and he's faster than any of them.

Even Falcons’ Twitter is impressed with the player they’ll be tasked with shutting down Monday night. A task, which Atlanta just may not be up for. The Falcons rank 24th in run defense and Football Outsiders have them 31st in passing yards allowed to running backs.

Pick: Saquon Barkley To Have At Least 1 Rushing TD
Prop #3: Matt Ryan Will Have More Passing Yards than Eli Manning and Falcons to Win Game
Props | Odds |
---|---|
Matt Ryan More Passing Yards Than Eli Manning | -213 |
Atlanta Falcons Win | -195 |
Parlay | -119 |
The schedule makers likely weren’t expecting to have two teams who have combined for only three wins matching up in this Monday night affair. I’ll give the edge to the home team and Falcons’ QB Matt Ryan.
In truth I’d likely favor almost anyone over his counterpart in this game in Eli Manning. New York’s offense is painful to watch and Manning’s lowly six touchdown passes have played a big part in that. Manning has struggled so much that bookmakers are taking bets on if he’ll be broadcasting next year.
Matt Ryan has completed 18 of 20 red zone attempts (90.0%) since Week 2, +22.5% Above Expectation according to our Completion Probability model.
No quarterback has a higher Comp Pct +/- in the red zone since Week 2, among 29 QBs with more than 10 RZ attempts.#InBrotherhood pic.twitter.com/lV00AqoBHT

Manning’s 1,662 passing yards rank 15th overall, compared to Ryan, who’s third overall with 1,956, while also passing for 12 TDs. Much has been made about the Falcons’ struggles in the red zone, but Ryan and the Falcons have been clinical within the opponents’ 20 since Week 2.
Ryan and the Falcons while struggling overall, at least show up to play at home.
Matt Ryan vs Eli Manning Passing Yards
355 | Week 6 | 281 |
285 | Week 5 | 326 |
419 | Week 4 | 255 |
374 | Week 3 | 297 |
272 | Week 2 | 279 |
251 | Week 1 | 224 |
Ryan averages 355 passing yards at home compared to only 268 on the road, and the Falcons average 34.5 points at home compared to only 14.5 on the road.
While Atlanta has several injury concerns especially on the defensive side of the ball, it sounds like Ryan will have all his weapons on offense with Calvin Ridley and Mohamed Sanu being cleared to play.
Mohamed Sanu, Calvin Ridley, Grady Jarrett, & Derrick Shelby will all be ready to play on Monday night.
