The Dallas Cowboys (2-2, 2-0 away, 1-3 ATS) visit the Pittsburgh Steelers (3-1, 1-0 home, 3-1 ATS) on Sunday Night Football in Week 5 (8:20 pm ET).

Pittsburgh opened as a 1.5-point home favorite in the Week 5 NFL odds, but that line has moved a full point towards the the Steelers over the course of the week.

With the Cowboys now catching 2.5 points, the Cowboys vs Steelers public-betting splits show bettors backing the underdogs to cover, but it’s a different story when it comes to the moneyline.

About six hours before kickoff, the NFL public betting splits show Dallas getting 71% of ATS handle as 2.5-point underdogs, along with 74% of the ATS wagers. Cowboys are just 1-3 ATS on the season, while the Steelers are 3-1 against the number. The Cowboys/Steelers moneyline splits are almost the inverse of the ATS numbers. As of 2:38 pm ET, the Steelers were getting 68% of the moneyline handle on just 49% of the tickets. Pittsburgh’s only home game to date was an impressive 20-10 victory over Jim Harbaugh’s Los Angeles Chargers.

Dallas, however, is 2-0 on the road (and an uncharacteristic 0-2 at home) with victories over the Cleveland Browns (33-17) and New York Giants (20-15).

The game total has increased two full points since last Sunday from 41.5 to 43.5. Even with the increased total, though, the public still loves the over, putting 75% of the O/U handle on over 43.5.

There are multiple significant injuries on the Dallas side, which is a big part of why the line has moved 1.5 points in Pittsburgh’s direction. Most-importantly, two-time First-Team All-Pro edge rusher Micah Parsons is out with an ankle injury. Parsons was as short as +405 in the NFL Defensive Player of the Year odds after Week 1 but has faded all the way to +2325 after getting injured.

Dallas will also be without WR3 Brandin Cooks, who hit the IR with a knee injury.

On the Pittsburgh side, starting OLB Alex Highsmith, who has 11 tackles and a sack in three games this season, will miss his second straight game.

The Steelers will also be very thing at running back. While RB1 Najee Harris is healthy, the two guys behind him on the depth chart – Jaylen Warren and Cordarrelle Patterson, are both out.
