The NFL Combine, aka the Underwear Olympics, is underway in Indianapolis. The first round of on-field testing begins Thursday, and you can bet on the outcome of the signature events. Plenty of big names including Abdul Carter, Shedeur Sanders, and Ashton Jeanty are choosing not to participate in the workouts, but there’s still plenty of buzz around the 40-yard dash, bench press and more.
2025 NFL Combine Odds
The crown jewel of the Combine is the 40-yard dash. Xavier Worthy’s record of 4.21 seconds isn’t expected to fall, as the “no” on anyone to break his mark carries -700 odds. Sticking with the sprints, the “no” on anyone to run a sub 4.255 40 carries -125 odds, with the other side priced at -105. Odds are also posted for bench press reps, vertical and broad jumps, as well as the 3-Cone and 20-yard shuttle, and there appears to be value on the bench press reps.

NFL Combine Pick #1: Most Bench Press Reps Over 36.5
It’s been a down few years for brute strength at the Combine. No player has exceeded 36 bench press reps at 225 pounds since 2022, with no one even eclipsing 34 reps during that stretch. Prior to 2022, that wasn’t the case. In 17 of the previous 19 years at least one player topped 36 reps on the bench. Undrafted defensive tackle Justin Ernest set the all-time mark with 51 reps back in 1999, while d-tackle Stephen Paea owns the most reps over the last 25 years with 49 back in 2011.
You could argue that today’s players are more focused on flexibility and full body-explosiveness. Those needs prioritize different movements than the bench, but there’s one invitee who was built to move heavy weight.
That’s Michigan d-tackle Mason Graham. The 6-foot-3, 318-pounder has been wowing teammates in the weight room since he stepped on the Wolverines campus. He has an extensive powerlifting background and uses wrestling in the offseason to sharpen his conditioning and leverage techniques.
Graham is in the conversation to be the first defensive tackle off the board, and possess one attribute that most elite bench pressers have. Short arms. That’s a huge advantage in this event, as it requires less range of motion to complete a rep.
He may not be an immediate NFL Defensive Player of the Year odds candidate, but he’s the top contender to help us cash this prop.

NFL Combine Prediction #2: Fastest 40-Yard Dash Over 4.255 Seconds
In today’s NFL, it takes a special talent in the NFL Draft odds to run a sub 4.3 40-yard dash. It takes an all-world athlete to run sub 4.26. It’s happened only three times in the last 17 years. Of course, Worthy’s record breaking run from last year is still on everyone’s mind, but we shouldn’t expect to see a time that even sniffs that this year.
There are plenty of fast invitees, some with impressive track backgrounds. But none profile to run sub 4.26. Georgia wideout Arian Smith might be the fastest, but his personal best 100m time (10.10) translates into the mid 4.3’s according to Combine experts.
Another speedster, Darien Porter, just clocked a top speed of 22.17 mph at the Senior Bowl. That’s one of the fastest times ever measured, but falls short of the Seahawks Tariq Woolen (22.45 mph). Woolen parlayed that speed into a 4.26 40, which still falls short of the target mark for this prop. Only two players (Worthy and Kalon Barnes) have run a sub 4.26 in the last seven Combines. Don’t expect another one to come out of this class.
