After dispatching of the powerhouse Kansas City Chiefs, the Cincinnati Bengals (8-4, 4-1 home) are surging, having won four straight.
To continue that trend in Week 14, they’ll have to dispatch the Cleveland Browns (5-7, 2-4 away) — a team Joe Burrow has yet to defeat in his young, brilliant career.
This in-state battle is also a great leadup to the launch of Ohio sports betting, which is set to go live January 1, 2023.
It all gets underway Sunday (Dec 11) at 1pm ET from Paycor Stadium, in a game you can see live on CBS.

Cleveland Betting Outlook
The Browns are dangling from the playoff ledge, and only wins will do.
Last week, they beat the Houston Texans 27-14 to stay alive. It was the return of quarterback Deshaun Watson from suspension, and he looked like a guy who hadn’t played football in 700 days.
Watson was 12-for-22 passing for 131 yards with an interception, and his play looked nothing close to the team that ranked top 10 in scoring and sixth in total offense under Jacoby Brissett.

He was bailed out by a standout performance by Cleveland’s defense and special teams, which produced a punt return TD, a pick-six, and a fumble returned for a score.
It was a stunning turnaround from a Browns defense that has surrendered 25 points per game on the season, the 6th-worst mark in the league. After forcing just eight turnovers all year, they had four in Week 13.
One of Cleveland’s five wins this year came against these same Bengals, in Week 8, thumping them 32-13. Nick Chubb churned out 101 yards on 23 carries and two TD’s, while Amari Cooper hauled in five balls for 131 yards and a major.
Cincinnati Betting Outlook
That Bengals 0-2 start is like a distant dream from the team that has just knocked off the AFC South-leading Tennessee Titans and AFC West-leading Chiefs.
Cincinnati is closing in on the leaders at the top of the 2023 Super Bowl odds, now sitting with the 6th-best figure (+1200).
The play of Joe Burrow has stabilized a team that may have been suffering a hangover from last year’s title loss to the LA Rams. Against KC, he went 25-for-31 for 286 yards and two TD’s.
During this fun-run, Joe Cool has thrown eight touchdown passes against two interceptions, and has been sacked just five times.
Don't think you can say enough about this pass from Joe Burrow. Third-and-11, game on the line, free rusher in his face. Burrow doesn't panic or try to escape and delivers a rope to beat excellent coverage. pic.twitter.com/uneTIJRplK

Defensively, Cincinnati handled Patrick Mahomes, holding the NFL’s passing leader to 223 yards a TD, sacking him twice and producing eight other QB hits.
The Bengals are seventh in scoring at 26 points per game, and boast the fourth-best passing attack, piling up 271.5 yards per game. The Browns rank 15th against the pass this season.
More good news for the Bengals: Joe Mixon, who’s missed the last two games with a concussion, is cleared to play. Samaje Perine was incredible in his absence, and will slide back to his change-of-pace role.

Browns vs Bengals Pick
This is a great time to check any Ohio sports betting FAQ’s as you get ready for this matchup.
Overall, Cleveland has won five straight against the Bengals. In three of those meetings, Cincinnati was the betting favorite.
The Bengals have been a bettors delight this season, putting up a 9-3 ATS record, tied with the New York Giants for the best record in the NFL. They’re also 4-0 ATS in their last four at home.
I think urgency matters in this one: Cincy is tied atop the AFC North with Baltimore, and Cleveland is the last team they face with a losing record across their final five, which include the Buccaneers, Bills and Ravens to close out the year.
Watson should be better with a some snaps and a full week of practice under his belt, and his performance is the wild card in taking the Bengals to cover. For that reason, we’ll take Cincinnati to win outright at a decent number.
The Pick:Â Â
- Bengals ML (-135); 1.5 units to win 1.11 units
- Week 13 Record: 0-1 ATS; Overall: 9-8 ATS, 0-1 ML; 1-0 O/U, -3.35 units
