The team’s offensive struggles have not been helped by their continued battle against injury. Once again, the Chargers will have to make do without receivers Keenan Allen and Mike Williams, both of whom remain sidelined with hamstring and ankle injuries.
Accordingly, quarterback Justin Herbert will have to rely on his backfield for yet another week. That likely means another busy evening for running back Austin Ekeler, who ran for two scores last weekend and has accounted for 10 of this team’s past 13 touchdowns.
San Francisco 49ers Betting Outlook
While last week’s bye could not have come at a better time for the Niners, this team returns to action still dealing with injury woes. Among the Niners players spending time in the clinic are cornerback Jason Verrett, who landed on the injured reserved this week with a torn Achilles tendon that likely ends his season.

On offense, receiver Deebo Samuel found his way onto the injury report, but was a full participant at practice, clearing the way for his return after missing the team’s Week 8 win over the Rams with a hamstring injury.
Samuel’s return bolsters an impressive Niners receiving corps that has steadily produced. Quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo has tossed for two touchdowns in each of his past four outings. He also connected with his favorite target Brandon Aiyuk three times over the past three games.
After studying the 49ers playbook over the past two weeks, recent addition Christian McCaffrey will be looking to build on an impressive performance in Atlanta, where he racked up two scores and 149 yards of total offense.
