Two teams not playing up to expectations to do battle in an NFC West showdown between the San Francisco 49ers and Los Angeles Rams. Both teams were among the favorites in the Super Bowl odds to begin the season, but those odds have lengthened following a pair of so-so starts to the campaign.
Both squads are in the bottom half in terms of points per game, with the 49ers ranked 20th and the defending Super Bowl champion Rams 29th. San Fran will be without star receiver Deebo Samuel (hamstring) for this important battle.
Let’s dive into the top Week 8 player props to make for your 49ers vs Rams picks in NFL Week 8.

Kickoff is set for 4:25 pm ET. This contest carries a 43-point total with the 49ers favored by 1.5 points. It’s expected to be sunny with barely a breath of wind.
Pick #1: Cooper Kupp Over 92.5 Receiving Yards
Despite the 49ers winning seven straight regular-season games against the Rams, it’s not been because they’ve been able to lock down Cooper Kupp. In his last four meetings with them (including last year’s NFC Championship game), here are his receiving yardage totals – 122, 142, 118, 122.
Cooper Kupp in 4 games w/ QB Matthew Stafford vs. 49ers:
2021, Week 10: 11-122-0 (13 targets)
2021, Week 18: 7-118-1 (7), 1-18-0 rushing
2021, NFCC: 11-142-2 (14)
2022, Week 4: 14-122-0 (19)— Matthew Freedman (@MattFtheOracle) October 26, 2022
In four of his six contests this year, he’s gone over the listed 92.5 number, with totals of 108, 122, 125, 128. He’s coming off a bye week, where he’ll be more rested and have more time to devise ways to torch the 49ers secondary yet again.
- Prop Pick: Cooper Kupp Over 92.5 Receiving Yards (-145), 1 unit

Cooper Kupp has the shortest odds to secure the first touchdown in the game. He has just one receiving and one rushing TD in his previous four contests.
Pick #2: McCaffrey Strikes First
In the first meeting between these two teams this year, the Rams were held without a touchdown. Given the Niners’ propensity to dominate LA (in the regular season), let’s start with their prized new possession in Christian McCaffrey recording the first TD.
Christian McCaffrey: "I got traded, so yeah, I've got a chip on my shoulder."
A reporter then asked Trent Williams if he can relate: "No, I can't relate. I wanted to get traded!"

With San Fran not having dual-threat Deebo Samuel for this one, expect them to pound the rock often with McCaffrey. He had 158 total yards against the Rams two weeks ago with the Panthers, as he feasted on them.
As for an anytime TD scorer, why not pair up our previous wager of over 92.5 yards for Cooper Kupp with an anytime touchdown as well? He’s found pay dirt three times in his last three games against the Niners.
Touchdown Prop Picks:
- Christian McCaffrey First TD (+700), 1 unit
- Cooper Kupp Anytime TD (-110), 1 unit
