The Washington Redskins will take the Atlanta Falcons this Sunday with QB Kirk Cousins under center; the match will be Sunday at 1 PM ET at the Georgia Dome for the NFL’s week 15.

RGIII won’t be active on Sunday and won’t play for the rest of the season; he was the rookie of the year last season, but he has had an awful 2013 season.

“I want to make sure he’s healthy,” HC Mike Shanahan said. “I think that’s the most important thing going into the offseason that he has his first full offseason being healthy. And if he did play, and something happened to him, I think it would set our franchise back.”

The Falcons have nothing to fight for, and their defense is one of the worst in the NFL; that should help Kirk Cousins.

“These are not the circumstances you necessarily want to be in when you start the season, but good or bad I got to be ready to go,” Cousins said. “I can’t control a lot of things going on, but I can control my preparation and I can control how I lead this team this weekend.”

Washington is 1-4 ATS in its last 5 games when playing Atlanta, and 1-5 ATS in its last 6 games on the road. The total has gone OVER in 4 of Atlanta’s last 5 games when playing at home against Washington.

The Falcons are 7 point favorites in the NFL point spread, and the game total was set at 50 points.
