The Steelers missed the playoffs with an 8-8 record last season, but they might have bigger issues in 2013. Pittsburgh starts their journey against Tennessee Titans, this Sunday at 1 PM ET.
Mike Tomlin’s team is a 7 point favorite for the game against the Titans, but they don’t have a star running back, or a go to guy in the receiving department.
I like our preparation,” coach Mike Tomlin told the team’s official website. “We are focused on what is going to be required for us to do to win this weekend. We’re going to take a business-like approach to it like we did in the preseason.”
Tight end Heath Miller is questionable after the knee injury he suffered last season. Miller is quarterback Ben Roethlisberger’s favorite target, and if he’s not ready for the opener they might have huge problems moving the ball.
The Titans will enter Heinz Field with a ground and pound mentality. They drafted offensive guard Chance Warmarck and signed ex Bills guard Andy Levitre to help Chris Johnson run the ball.
“We want to take it to the next level,” wide receiver Kenny Britt said. “We don’t want to be one of them mediocre teams out there not making the playoffs every year.”
Tennessee is 2-8 ATS in its last 10 games on the road. Pittsburgh is 15-4 SU in its last 19 games at home, but 1-3-1 ATS in its last 5 games at home.
Seven of the last 10 games between these two ended OVER the game total.
