Prop #1: Jayden Daniels Over 43.5 Rushing Yards

LSU’s senior pivot averaged 63.2 rushing yards per game in 2022, running for at least 44 yards in nine of 14 contests. One of those outings was the season opener versus the Seminoles, when he piled up 114 rushing yards on 16 carries.

Jayden Daniels is the 2nd LSU player in school history with 200 passing yards and 100 rushing yards in a game.

Florida State’s Achilles heel last season was its rush defense, as they coughed up over 160 yards on the ground per game. There’s not a ton of optimism that the Seminoles did enough to address their leaky run D in the offseason, and there’s a good chance the Tigers are forced to lean on Daniels to exploit that.

That’s because starting running back John Emery is out due to personal reasons, and the list of LSU backups is not very inspiring.

Prop #2: Mason Taylor Over 31.5 Receiving Yards

Our next LSU vs Florida State props target is also a Tiger, tight end Mason Taylor. The 6’6, 255-pound sophomore came on strong to end the 2022 season, and is expected to be one of Daniels’ primary weapons in the pass game.

Taylor played the fourth most snaps of any LSU offensive player last season, and will be on the field for nearly every one of Daniels’ dropbacks on Sunday. He finished last year with at least 36 receiving yards in five of his final six games, going for a combined 11 catches and 151 yards in the SEC Championship Game and Citrus Bowl.

Florida State may struggle against the run, but they boast a strong group of defensive backs. Expect them to clamp down on the Tigers receivers, forcing Daniels to look for his big tight end more frequently.

As far as the anytime TD market goes, don’t sleep on FSU’s Johnny Wilson. The 6’7 giant has caught the NFL’s attention, and is drawing comps to Darren Waller, who played receiver at Georgia Tech. Wilson is fresh off a 5 TD campaign as a sophomore, and ended the season with over 200 yards receiving in a Bowl win over Oklahoma.

LSU’s biggest weakness on defense is its unproven secondary, and they’ll have a hard time matching Wilson’s size in the red zone.
