Cam Ward Passing Touchdowns

Miami Hurricanes quarterback Cam Ward is a Heisman Trophy odds favorite for a reason. He’s been lighting up opposing secondaries all year long and is coming off of a spectacular 319-yard, four touchdown performance against the Louisville Cardinals.

Now, he’s set to light up an Florida State defense that ranks 111th in expected points added per pass. Ward has tossed for 24 touchdowns and just five interceptions through seven games, while exceeding his 2.5 passing touchdowns prop in six of those contests.

Miami’s explosive offense sits second in the country in adjusted EPA per play, and averages 9.93 yards per dropback. They convert on an FBS-leading 59.2% of third-downs and are scoring touchdowns on nearly 90% of red zone trips.

Plus, the Hurricanes defense (15th in sacks per dropback) will devastate the Seminoles awful offensive line – which ranks dead last in pressure rate allowed. That will open up plenty of opportunities for Ward to go to work. Bet on Ward to exceed his college football week 9 player prop line of 2.5 passing touchdowns with confidence.

  • CFB Week 9 Player Prop Pick: Cam Ward over 2.5 passing touchdowns (-114)

Diego Pavia Rushing Yards

Despite a tough loss last week, the Texas Longhorns have yet to allow a quarterback to rush for 40 yards this season. They held dual-threat Oklahoma pivot Michael Hawkins Jr. to just 27 yards on 20 carries in the Red River Showdown, and have given up a grand total of 21 quarterback rushing yards across the past three weeks.

Meanwhile, Vanderbilt quarterback Diego Pavia has rushed for at least 40 yards in every game this season, highlighted by a 104-yard effort against Virginia Tech. He’s one of the best dual-threat pivots in the nation. Additionally, Pavia has at least 13 rushing attempts in each contest. But, the Texas defense is a different beast.

The Longhorns sit second in PFF’s team defensive grade, and have conceded an FBS-leading 3.6 yards per play. They’ve also surrendered just 3.1 yards per rush on the year. Texas has the type of explosive athletes necessary to keep Pavia contained in the pocket.

  • CFB Week 9 Player Prop Pick: Diego Pavia under 40.5 rushing yards (-114)
