Pacing the way in the Atlantic 10 conference with just a few regular season games left to play, the VCU Rams (21-7, 12-14-2 ATS) host the Richmond Spiders (14-14, 11-17 ATS) on Friday, February 24th from the Stuart C. Siegel Center. Tipoff is set for 7:00 pm ET and will be televised on ESPN 2.
After a couple of stagnant performances, the Rams offense has come back to life, posting at least 80 points in back-to-back victories. VCU are 9.5-point favorites in this matchup against a Richmond squad that is a terrible 1-9 on the road.

Richmond Spiders Take Big Losses on the Road
Not only have the Spiders won just a single contest away from home this season, they’ve also been a terrible bet to cover as the visiting side. Against the spread, they are just 2-8 on the road this year as opposed to a 7-8 ATS record when hosting.
When crossing the timeline, the offense really runs through one man, Tyler Burton, who puts up 19 points per game while not a single one of his teammates averages double digits. The Spiders are just 1-5 ATS in their last six when Burton fails to score at least 20 points in a game.

Last season, the Spiders entered the Atlantic 10 tournament as the No. 6 seed, and won four straight to capture the tournament title, securing a berth in the NCAA tournament. Currently tied for 8th in the conference, they’ll hope to catch lightning in a bottle again and a road win against the league’s best on Friday, would be a great boost to the squad’s confidence with the tournament on the horizon.
VCU Rams Three Wins from Regular Season Title
Although they’ve been lights out at home for the majority of the season, the Rams suffered two consecutive losses as hosts before bouncing back with an 80-61 victory over Fordham on the weekend to run their current win streak to three games.
Following a straight up win, the Rams are 8-2 ATS in the college basketball odds in their last 10 games. Last month, they handled the Spiders fairly easily winning by 12 despite shooting just 37.3% from the floor.

Not only have the Rams won four of the last five head-to-head matchups between these two, they’ve also covered the spread in every single one of those victories, taking three of those contests by at least 10 points.
In their most recent victory over Saint Joseph’s, Jayden Nunn led the way in scoring pouring in a season-high 31 points. The sophomore guard was on fire from beyond the arc nailing all seven of his triples.
VCU's Jayden Nunn with an ultra efficient 31 points in 26 minutes vs. Saint Joes. Missed one shot, hit all seven 3s. Was on my preseason watch list thanks to self-creation/pull-up flashes like the ones he delivered last night. Usage only at 16.7% so maybe breakout at later date. pic.twitter.com/fpVz0YbGHE

Richmond vs VCU Pick and Prediction
With an overall KenPom ranking that pits them 77th in the entire nation, the Rams have their sights set high. They really haven’t faced too many serious contender in the odds to win the NCAA tournament this year, but their goal is to encounter that type of opposition at the big dance in March.
The Rams still have some work to do, but taking care of Richmond should just be a small speed bump enroute to closing out the scheduled as regular season champions. While the Spiders defeated Saint Louis by three points on Tuesday, they are 0-4 ATS when coming off a win in their last four..
Our prediction is that a double digit victory is safely in the cards for the home side in the Richmond vs VCU odds when the teams tango in state capital on Friday evening.
