- The Timberwolves tangle with the Kings on Friday night at Golden 1 Center
- Will Derrick Rose be able to continue his scoring spree?
- Can Sacramento sniper Buddy Hield stay red hot from deep?Â
The Timberwolves (5-8, 0-7 Away) will try to get back on track on Friday, November 9th when they face the Kings (6-5, 2-2 Home) at Golden 1 Center. Minnesota has lost four straight and is hot on the heels of a disheartening 114-110 loss against the Lakers in which they fell apart in the fourth quarter.
The Kings, meanwhile, are licking their wounds after losing 114-105 to the Raptors on Wednesday night. Willie Cauley-Stein and Buddy Hield both had 24 points, but Sacramento was outrebounded 53-31 and gave up 48 points in the paint.
We’ve sized up this evening’s matchup between the Timberwolves and Kings and have three can’t miss props to wager on before tip off.
Prop #1: Derrick Rose Will Have at Least 23 Points
Prop | Odds |

Derrick Rose Will Have at Least 23 Points | +100 |
Few players have been hotter lately than Derrick Rose, who dropped a career-high 50 points against the Jazz on 19-31 shooting from the floor. The three-time All-Star followed up that stellar performance with a 21 point outing against the Clippers and a 31 point outburst against the Lakers.

Rose’s 18.6 points per game are his highest since 2012, and although he hasn’t quite regained his MVP form, he has done an exceptional job of extending his range. He’s hitting a career-high 46% of his threes and is posting the best effective field goal percentage of his 10-year career. For the first time ever, defenders have to respect his shot, which is opening up all kinds of new driving angles and sneaky new lines of attack.
Rose won’t score 50 points against tonight, but you can comfortably pencil him in for 23 against the Kings, who rank 20th in the league in defensive rating and 27th in points allowed per game.
Prop #2: Buddy Hield Will Make at Least 3 Three-Pointers
Prop | Odds |
---|---|
Buddy Hield Will Make 3 or More Three-Pointers | -122 |
The Kings are second in the NBA in three-point accuracy this season, and Buddy Hield is a big reason why. The 24-year-old gunner is launching 5.4 threes per game and is connecting on an eye-popping 45.8% of his attempts. That’s elite marksmanship, and it puts him in the same class as all-world shooters like Steph Curry and Klay Thompson.
Buddy Hield’s ability to bury transition triples is what sets him apart as a truly elite shooter. These kinds of leak out jumpers are one of the reason Sacramento are able to play with such a high pace effectively: pic.twitter.com/Osn3WPURY6

Hield has already made three three-pointers in a game five times this season, and connected on five treys in a November 1st win over the Hawks. The Timberwolves are a distant 25th in field goal defense this season and should give Hield all the clean looks he needs to connect from deep.
Prop #3: De’Aaron Fox Will Have at Least 2 Steals
Prop | Odds |
---|---|
De’Aaron Fox Will Have 2 Steals or More | +154 |
Get used to hearing De’Aaron Fox’s name. The Kentucky product is averaging 18.7 points and 7.3 assists per game, and is making a habit of running circles around opposing point guards. Swipa, as he’s affectionately known, is also a damn fine defender. He’s posting a career-high 1.2 steals per contest and has had two steals or more four times this season.

The Wolves don’t turn the ball over much, but they also don’t routinely face someone with Fox’s exceptional speed and instincts. Count on him getting multiple steals and deflections tonight.
