  • The Golden State Warriors are home to Houston on Sunday night on NBA TV at 8:30 pm ET
  • The Warriors are 4.5-point home favorites and -184 on the moneyline!
  • See below for Rockets vs Warriors odds, picks and props to target for Apr. 6

The Golden State Warriors (46-32) entertain the Houston Rockets (51-27) on Saturday at 8:30 pm ET. It’s a game that might considerably live up to the hype. Golden State heads into this contest on a five-game winning streak. The Warriors are 18-4 since the All-Star break but face a Houston team not too concerned with seeding. The Rockets clinched their division already and expect to be the #2 seed in the West. Golden State is currently the #5 seed but is only 1.5 games from the #8 Memphis Grizzlies and one game off from the #3 Los Angeles Lakers.

Below, see my Rockets vs Warriors predictions for Sunday night.

Rockets vs Warriors Odds

TeamSpreadMLTotal
Rockets+4.5 (-110)+154O 225 (-110)
Warriors-4.5 (-110)-184U 225 (-110)

The Warriors roll in as 4.5 point favorites, with a modest -184 moneyline and solid 64.79% implied win probability. Records and series mean less than usual for Houston is getting ready for the postseason. How much effort do they put in on Sunday night? That will be telling.

Ime Udoka has Houston on quite the hot stretch themselves only losing two of their previous 16 games. Jabari Smith Jr. is their only real injury of note (Ankle – DTD). Smith Jr. is listed as questionable. However, the final week of the regular season is here and some teams will employ load maintenance knowing they have extra rest on their side.

Like the spread, the game total has not moved around much. This stands at 225 points. The over could be more likely given that Houston does not need to win this game but Golden State does. I side with the over here.

Rockets vs Warriors Picks

  • Best Bet: Warriors -4.5 (-110) at FanDuel
  • Over 225 (-110) at FanDuel

This may not be placed in the Louvre. If Houston goes full bore however, this contest could get quite good and quick. Houston wants to prove they belong and can make a deep postseason run. However, there is a lot of unknown here.

For the Warriors, this is not all about Steph Curry. Depth and balance exists in Golden State. With Jimmy Butler, Anthony Wiggins, and others stepping up, Golden State is again at least a threat in the West.

Steph Curry is not considered an NBA MVP contender, but he merits better than five-figure odds. Golden State’s record since the All-Star Break and a win here adds to that argument. Anyway, Golden State is one of our best bets to cover and win on Sunday night.

Rockets vs Warriors Props to Target

  • Jimmy Butler Under 16.5 Points (-108)
  • Brandon Podziemski Over 13.5 Points (-130)

Enough projections hike the game total a little and we will bite here. I’m taking Golden State at -4.5 as a solid bet. Laying points at home is not a bad option for a team that has a ton to play for. Jimmy Butler Under 16.5 points gains some legs with Golden State’s depth and the yo-yo nature of his pointe production.

As much as the Steph Curry props are always fun, Brandon Podziemski is rolling and has taken 10+ three-pointers in his last five games. While he may not top 25 points like he has in three of his previous four starts, expect Podziemski to get 15+ points. I also side with Curry Under 3.5 rebounds at +114. The plus number could have been higher maybe (4.4 rpg) but still is good enough. Here are more top props below.
