Injuries will play a factor in this cross-conference matchup. Rockets’ guard Fred VanVleet (ankle) has already been ruled out, while center Alperen Sengun (calf) is questionable and could miss his third straight game.

New York is probably breathing a massive sigh of relied that OG Anunoby’s non-contact injury in their loss to the Lakers Saturday night was a foot sprain. He’s questionable for Monday, as is Josh Hart (knee).

NBA player props from DraftKings Sportsbook on February 3.

New York’s all-star tandem of Jalen Brunson (25.5) and Karl-Anthony Towns (23.5) own the highest scoring props for the Knicks, and both are looking for a bounce back after combining to shoot 10-for-30 against the Lakers for 28 points.

There are plenty of high totals in the rebound department, topped by Towns’ 13.5. Sengun and Hart are tied for the second most at 9.5, with Houston’s Amen Thompson listed at 8.5. Hart is coming off his his seventh triple-double of the season against LA last time out, with 26 points, 13 rebounds and 11 dimes.

Rockets’ guard Jalen Green has the top 3-point make line at 3.5, and has Houston’s highest scoring total at 24.5.

Houston Rockets vs New York Knicks Prediction

  • Rockets vs Knicks pick: Rockets +5.5 (-115)
  • Rockets vs Knicks prop bet: Brunson Over 25.5 points (-110)

The Rockets are in the midst of a stretch where they play eight of nine on the road. Cut right in the middle of those two 4-game roadies was a no-show at home against the Nets, losing 110-98.

Perhaps getting right back on the away schedule is what they need, as Houston is tied with the OKC Thunder for the most road wins in the NBA at 17-7.

Despite their recent struggles, the Rockets can still lean on that sturdy defense, which allows just 108.5 points per game, a Top-5 mark in the league.

Houston is one of the best bounce-back bets in the NBA, going 10-5-0 against the spread after a loss, the third best record in the league.

Right behind them? These very New York Knicks, who are a sparkling 10-6-0 ATS.

New York was the hottest team in the league before Saturday night, but were humbled by the Lakers in primetime to the tune of 128-112.

The Knicks’ offense, which had rung up an average of 125.2 points per game over their five-game win streak, could not take advantage of a Lakers’ side that was playing without Anthony Davis.

A defense that allows just 111.2 points per contest on the year surrendered its most points in a game since a Jan. 4

Houston has the lone win between these two this year, a 109-97 triumph way back at the start of November, and they’ve won two in a row in this head-to-head after New York had won the previous eight.

The Rockets have been sturdy on the road lately, going 5-1-1 ATS over their last seven. They’re 3-1-0 ATS as a road dog this season. While Anunoby appears on DraftKings’ props board, I’d be surprised if New York didn’t take a little precaution with his injury.

He’s the most vital piece missing or compromised Monday, and with the points the Rockets are getting, it makes Houston a nice underdog wager in this battle of NBA heavies.
